Multi colored paneled BP softballs some thoughts
I purchased a few dozen multi colored softballs and finally got to hit them last nite. These softballs I thought really provided some interesting feedback. Several of us hit them and it certainly is nice to see a true visual on our swings. My thoughts are well worth the $36.00 per dozen. We mixed up the colored balls with yellow ones and both of us noticed that after hitting the colored balls it seemed much easier to hit the yellow ones. I felt that the distance increased probably from concentration and pitch selection. Very interesting to the sideways spin on these balls. What we felt was that right to left spin the barrel of the bat was coming through to quick and on the slicing spin the barrel was dragging a bit. One other bit of feedback I found interesting the longest distance hits were not produced by the cleanest contact if that makes sense. Posting in case anyone finds any use to this info. I enjoy most when other senors post good product reviews and tips thought I would share.

Hi Joe

I've used these for about 8 months and find them about the same as you. At the beginning everyone kind of takes them lightly, but then, once they start to figure it out they get used to it and start using them to judge pitches, spin after contact, etc.

Being used at least once a week they've held up well. SBF recently had a thread asking how they held up and some reported years of use up to 5 years. A good useful tool. Someone mentioned it's a throw back to baseballs that were used in the 50's to train.

I don't know about 5 years because I only developed them 18 months ago. They should hold up at least 2 years if you don't abuse them to badly.

The whole concept of bing able to watch your spin is very key in becomming a great hitter. In Bogie's new hitting video you we see some of us hitting them. With proper spin you can increase distance and ball speed.

On a side note, we have just finished a girls fast pitch version for pitch training and hit training, so if you have any grandchildren that play these will be a very good training ball for them as well.
