Dave Wells became a murder victim last week. He was a friend of many Hayward and Modesto players, and in particular, those who played with "The Farm" teams he played with and managed.

From the Oakland Tribune:

The latest homicide victim was 62-year-old Oakdale contract deliveryman David Wells. An Alameda County sheriff's deputy found him about 7:54 a.m., shot to death in his delivery van, which was parked in an empty parking lot by a soccer field on Harbor Bay Parkway off Doolittle Drive near Oakland International Airport.

That is so sad and senseless. God bless him and his family.
