Is it legal to use a first baseman's mitt at anorther position other than catcher or first base, in slowpitch softball?

You should check with the assn(s) you play in, that rule varies as well as enforcement there of.

Allen, a couple of years ago ASA changed their rules to allow the mitt anywhere. To my knowledge no other association has follow ASA's lead.

Thanks guys, that pretty much sattisfied my curiosity. I've always been under the assumption that is wasn't legal, but having seen them in use on occasion, I got curious. Thanks again. Bruce, good luck in your upcoming tournaments.
