Cesar Chavez - Phx Worlds
TerryH; I haven't played at Cesar Chavez so I can't comment on that park, but you have a brand new Big League Dreams park in Gilbert (suburb east of Phx). Why can't this park be brought into the rotation for the Worlds? I would think we would want to use the best facilities in the Valley for the Senior Softball World Championships.

Terry's quote........
"These fields have all of the basic amenities that put them
in the category of good-to-excellent softball complexes when compared
with facilities throughout the country."

As someone who has lived and played here since 1967, and has worked the area as a police officer for the last 32 years, don't believe it one second.

Now the Hispanic Worlds are also here in town during this time. Is this why Riverview was eliminated? And what about Victory Lane or Big League Dreams?

And then there is Sahuaro Park in Glendale.

There are also complexes in Scottsdale, Chandler and Tempe much nicer than Cesar Chavez. To say that Chavez is comparable to good to excellent complexes across the country is ridiculous.

BLD and Victory Lane are private facilities and would HAVE to cost a LOT more to rent.

City parks are subsidized with tax $$$

Chaves was nice hen I played there a couple of years ago.

I've played on a LOT worse fields.

Joncon, they used Victory Lane last year. Chavez is ok. But please don't compare it to good complexes around the country.
I forgot one, there is also Red Mountain in Mesa.

Like I said in a previous thread, we played at C.C. 2 years ago and had no troubles. I didn't care for the surrounding area, but the park was fine.

Pros and cons to everything, guys. Seattle was beatiful...and it rained. Just the way it is.

Regardless of the fact that we have to play here, my issue is why. We were told of our field assignments and made hotel accmadations. Now we find out that we're across town and the originial fields were never avalibable to begin with. Sounds alot like the Cal. Cup. Being told we were either @ the Sac complex or Roseville when Roseville was never in the picture because they were not available.

So now were are looking at the prospects of being stuck @ a set of fields for hours between game with limited amenities. ( like the Cal Cup. ) At least The Sacramento Complex had a snack bar. Can we say the same for C.C.

It is confirmed that a full service snack bar will be at Caesar Chavez Park and at Mountain Vista Park. I know this because I am your food vendor, Ro & Joe's Catering. We are waiting for our time schedule of the games and if they start at dusk, we will have breakfast and if we have to stay past dawn, we will have dinner. Coka-cola is assisting us with serving you all day and each day.

Hello AZBALLER, Thank YOU for critically correcting me on my "time of day". I do not expect you to eat our food, but if you do get hungry, please be sure to come and see me, Ro, and try one of our famous 1/3lb Sirloin Cheese Burgers with or without the fire roasted green chilis and a 20oz Coke, on me. PROMISE. I will be at Caeser Chavez Park.
As for the bathroom facilities, we have NO control. We do not work for the city parks.
Here is a partial menu of what's for lunch:
1/3lb Sirloin Burgers
Grilled Beer Brats and sauerkraut
Green Chili Cheese Dogs
Polish Sausage and sauerkraut
Nathan's Jumbo All Beef Dogs
again, this is just a small portion of our menu

TO "AZBALLER", give me your name, first initial and last name will be fine. This way you can show me your ID for your free burger and coke. Don't want everyone coming up and saying that they are the AZBALLER.
