Cesar Chavez Complex
To all those people that put this complex and neighborhood down. What the hell were you talking about?
The neighborhood was great and the fields extremely acceptable lights included. Awesome family park and even got to enjoy a high school football atmosphere. They also had the biggest, cleanest Wal-Mart I ever seen.

Forgot to add the Wal-Mart had a good selection of imported beers at a great price.

Boston, I don't know which route you took to the field, but it doesn't sound like you went down 35th to Baseline, where lots of barb and razor wire around businesses was the norm. The south Phoenix area is not the greatest, and certainly not like the Scottsdale area we stayed. A lot of seedy characters on the streets.....a couple who stole the purse from the wife of one of the Top Gun III players. This happened at the CircIe K right at the corner of 35th and Baseline. I do agree with you that the complex was nice and the fields were in great shape

To Boston and Senior Softball SSUSA;
A car of four mexican gang members pulled up to my car while I was pumping gas at Circle K at the corner of 35th and Baseline. My passenger side car door shut and i looked up to see a man jumping into his car with my purse, I yelled out to stop and they burned rubber out ot the lot. I called the sheriff and when they came, the first thing they asked me was what are you doing in this neighborhood? I told them we were at a Senior Tournament for softball ,and they were amazed.. I asked why and they said we have so many fields in the Phoenix Area that are in good neighberhoods that he couldnt understand why they would put us in such a dangerous area. He then asked me the name of the organization and shook his head.
Lesson learned any women who get gas by themselves lock your car especially if your purse is on your front seat, while pumping gas.
My brohter lives in Scottsdale and he would not come to the games, because of the area.
I hope Senior softball will find a safer area for us to play in next year !

On my way to take BP at the fields the Thursday before I stopped at a Chevron to go inside and make a purchase.

When I returned to my car there was a latino/dark skinned man at the drivers side looking at everything inside the car. Things changed when I walked out - but it was not a good feeling (51st Ave I believe - the one that was blocked off under construction causing us to divert to 35th).

Even though the fields were good and the housing around the fields seemed new there were lots of indications along the way to reccommend relocation to another park. There were also a lot of semi trucks on those streets that really didn't care whether there was anyone driving on the lane next to them whether going straight or turning.

Craig,

Sorry this happened to the Mrs. I'm glad you two are ok. Give me a call and let me know about Thursday. Thought you were gone, but...

Talk soon...
