Congratulations Bruce!!!!
We had our annual CSSA Softball Banquet Saturday in Woodstock, Georgia. Mr. "Bruce" Fairchild received a phenominal list of awards. Home Run Champ, MVP's, Highest Bating Average, Best Offensive (All-around) and i'm sure I've missed something. The banquet covered Spring and Fall Seasons, and he took them both. I'd like to point out that there are some really good players in that league (a lot of 50+ tournament guys). Bruce hit 15 HR's, some over the scoreboard and to my knowlege is the only player in our league to lead the batting statistics in EVERY category (amazing). His fall average was .895 with 8 Hr's.

I wanted to mention this because Bruce is a classic example of Sportsmanship and Humility an I believe he deserves the recognition.

Looks like he up for the highest bidder for the 2009 season. He moving up to play 60 ball next year and leaving the Kittrell's softball team which is only a small group of mainly AAA players. I guess he going to Major +
Best wishes to Bruce and congrats to a great hitter and friend

Allen, It's already tough enough being around Bruce and now you've made it impossible. Was he the only player in your league or did everyone feel sorry for him? I noticed he didn't get the award for the best physique. R.T. Mcmahan must have gotten that. He does have a pretty good women at his side. She probably deserves something for just putting up with him.

No Emo, he didn't get best physique, although he probably lost a pound or two runing back and forth to the trophy table. RT didn't show, I guess he didn't want to help carry the hardware, Bruce put that burden on his poor little wife. You're right, like most softball wives, she deserves an award.

Hey Don Ward
Glad to hear you are doing well.Hey,we are in our winter work out mode up here.If it gets above 45 degrees we hit-helps to break the bats in also.I have left Spicer's 55.No hard feelings,no problems, just time to move on.I am 60 right now and want to play 60's.Spicer had a 60 team all year which I am not involved with; only one of our 55 team is with them..They are rated Major + and will be in for a long year.Bruce just played against them in Ft Myers.I am still going to play in our leagues up here with some of the Turn2 guys and hope to be involved with a tournament team in Va.as a player.I only managed out of neccesity. You guys won alot this year. That ASA against you guys was a classic battle.

Take Care

We all know Bruce can put up very good numbers in softball. But what I really like about Bruce is that he is a Frist Class Person all the way around. Good luck Bruce with 60 ball in 09. As for the rest of you GA guys you all are not to bad yourselfs. Hope to see more of you all next year.
