Hey Ed....Before you get these guys all excited about Donnie Meyers...there's a rumor Deluxe Bakery is going to sponsor a 50's team. I would think Donnie would play with them first. The rumor hasn't been confirmed yet..just heard it the other day. Mac

Delux would that be New Jersey based? If I remember correctly didn't they used to have a 40 team. I've always wondered why more there weren't more traveling 50 teams out of Jersey, there used to be alot of talent in those Old Bridge and Princeton 40 leagues years ago.

Hey Jeff (Huggins),
I haven't logged on for a couple days. I haven't been able to confirm the rumor about Deluxe starting a 50's team. I called Marty Jones tonight..he's checking it out for me. I'll let you know when he gets back to me. By the way, I'm Bill McCabe aka Mac21.

Lecak,
Yeah Deluxe Bakery out of Runemede NJ still sponsors Class B or C teams. I know they sponsored an over 35 team but not sure about a 40's team. There was also a Deluxe Bakery 50's team in Senior Softball I played on from 2001-2003. And you're right, there was/is a lot of talent in Jersey, but for some reason not that much interest in Senior Softball. Hopefully the rumor is true....it will add another quality team to our ranks.
