| April 23, 2009 Jetboy 62 posts | Woo-freaking-Hoo! It's about time! One of my main goals since joining my 50 and over team has been to hit a home run. An over the fence home run, that is. I've a had a few inside the park type in the last few years. But I wanted a genuine over the fence kind. I'd come close my first few seasons, banging a couple off the fences and one hoppers from time to time. I'd been going to the gym and lifting weights to try to get stronger but it didn't seem to change the distance that the ball went. Also working against me were changes from 'hot' balls to restricted flight balls along with the hottest bats (Demarini u2's for example) being made illegal. I'd pretty much given up on my dream. Well I don't know what happened last night but I burned the right fielder with a triple my first time up, burned the right center fielder with a double on my second trip to the plate and on my third at bat sailed one over the straight away center field fence to finally get to do a home run trot. YEAH! |
