Gar, I play on a traveling team with players from Ok.,AR.,Misou, & Tx. Right now we have a roster of about 15 but with injuries we were not able to make the Texas tourney last weekend, so I cannot say for sure if we could use another player, or for that matter be able to add another player to the roster, but if you want to get back to me email at jcclaw1@yahoo.com. Right
now we are a AAA or major, just depends on which association is rating. Thanks and look forward to hearing from you, Jerry Clawson

Gar Hunter, I bow fish here on Lake Travis in Spicewood several nights a week and almost every weekend, when I am not playing tournaments. Is Gar Hunter saying you hunt gars too, or is that just your name on this board ?Just checking to see if you bow hunt too, we get some reaklly big carp, buffalo, a lot of tilapia ,a lot of gasper and some 4-5 feet gar, but no big ones. We hear down in the lower colorado they do.

Kenny,

I dont bow fish but rod n reel fish for longnose with purpose built rope lures. I'm fairly new here and havent put the boat in the water yet as Im trying to get my softball "life" squared away.

I need to be doin the tournament route like you (green with envy)along with finding a good patch of longnose and bowfin water to fish

Gar Hunter, What kind of rope lures do you use ?I wouldn't mind giving that a try.Do the hit it fairly regular or is it a long day process?

Kenny,

go online and google Garman Jack Barnett. Hes a personal friend, resides back in Gainesville, Ga-where I wish I was now-and makes a line of gar lures which you can order. He introduced me to longnose fishin 10 yrs ago and its changed my fishin life. Some neat gar fishin pics also. I have some big gar pics on the gar anglers sportsmans website, most from Alabama
