Wood Bats
In Colorado last year we had a wood bat tournament. I was very sceptical as I like swinging the senior rated composites and getting in a few long balls.
I have to admit it was a fun tournament. More emphasis on placing hits and team defense was extremely important. I thought a tournament with no home runs would be dull -- it was just the opposite.
We are having another one this September and I am really looking forward to it.
Does anyone else have interest in a wood bat tournament that maybe SSUSA would put on? Maybe SSUSA should look at a national wood bat tournament if there is enough interest. Last year we used a 44/375 ball but I think that this year they are going to a more lively ball.
Whats your thoughts?
