Is It Just me?
Is it just me or is the system in need of yet another rule adjustment.
Why is it that SSUSA is allowing teams to pickup players for the TOC. What happened to the official roster that is required to qualify?
Why isnt the team that qualifies for the TOC required to play with the same roster that got them there?
IMO, it certainly makes the TOC considerablely cheaper!

They posted the rule and I feel it is very fair.
Problem is time frame from last T of year till it is played... not counting the Nov Worlds which is really the 1st for the next year. Players change during the time lag.

E4/E6, I agree that the team and the roster that qualified ought to be required to play intact. It seems yet another rule to address what should be an extreme circumstance.........players who cannot attend. If a team cannot field enough from their "original" roster, they should simply stay home.

Taits, there in lies part of the problem. The time frame.

Integrity is a bigger part of the problem.

It would seem to make more sense if the TOC was played in November and the Winter Worlds in February. This would help from the standpoint of rosters and to make it more fair to cold weather teams. Just my opinion

JLD, This has been brought up before. They should be flipflopped. Maybe they have a contrct that needs to run out before they can change the dates. Our team in the Midwest going there but most of us have not played for 5 months, so we will probably get beat up on. Couple dome practices coming up but we are not good enough to just show up and play.

JLD930 is right. Play TOC in the year you qualify. The two winter T are for next year rosters.
Ca and Az and Fl teams are playing now and team from the north are shoveling snow.

If I am reading the rule correctly, the GIST of the rules says, a team (MAY APPLY TO)can add as many as 6 players if there roster falls below the original 12/13. If it falls below 6 they are disqualified from TOC play.
I cant see anyone taking advantage of this rule........

JLD930, I agree with you. reverse the tournaments. The teams who won the winter worlds in 2009 qualifies for the 2011 TOC. I think that is right but a lot of times I just like to hear my lips bang without thinking or looking up the facts. I would strongly urge a reversal. Play all the same games and tourneys in the same calendar year. Thanks Harry #20

I tried pushing that years ago for Nov or early Dec.
Flip flop the Vegas Worlds & TOC dates.
Contracts in place was one obstacle.

Taits, If it was years ago then the contracts should be up. I just looked at the 55aaa bracket and there are a couple of teams qualified that are not even listed in the rankings(I think they folded). About six of the teams have been moved to Major. If the contracts are binding why not reverse the locations as well. TOC in Fort Myers( NOV) and the Winter worlds in Winter Haven (FEB). at least for the East Coast. Thanks Harry

to me this is why TOC should be played right after the worlds in Oct,make it the weekend they usually play the winters in Vegas.then you could have the winters in January.also make the pick-up date for the new age group after the TOC,maybe move it to 1 Dec.

Might well have been, because shortly thereabouts it was moved to Feb from March.
After Nov\Dec many changes go on for many teams. Age group move usually up and players come and go. so between Oct until about March when it really starts again (yes there are Menifee and a couple others, but most are after that usually due to rain outs etc in Feb.
I still think the flip flop mentioned is best, baring rain near Vegas.
