Favorite Team Names
My favorite Team name I was involved with was "No Guts, No Glory",
started by a fat man whose mantra was
that anyone in shape could play softball
but if you had a belly and could still
play, then you were really good.

My favorite team name was The Bad News Beers. It was a co-ed team that played in a Fort Belvior league. Beers and a cook outs a lot of fun.Lobby to have the NV Force use that name but did not work. Thanks Harry

Way back when,I had a team called the "AUSTIN MERCHANTS".For you guys looking for a sponsor. We called ourselves the Austin Merchants and ALL of the players would go out to places they used.Bars,Resturants, car dealers, beer companies,etc,..We would tell them if they would give us $?$,we would put their name on our shirt. All the players would have a different sponsors name on their shirt, and we raised several thousand dollars for out team as well.WORKED GREAT FOR US !

Just a few I came across over the years:

Skidmarks
We Got The Runs
Left Hand World Sinisters
Army of Darkness
Diamond Dogs
The Melvins
2X4 Studs
Zeroes to Heroes
Salty Balls

(Left Hand world was composed of all lefties sponsored by a store that catered to lefthanders, they were very good...lefty shortstop was unreal)

Last Minute, not because of the late inning heroics. But for the time the players got to the game.

Back in the late 80's I played for a team, most of whom worked at the National Center for Toxological at Pine Bluff Arsenal (Ark). The name of the team: Biohazard.

Some strange dudes playing for that team, including a couple of PhD's.

Made for some interesting team parties.l

I have a friend ("TK") who always talked about a hypothetical team with a proposed name of "Master-Batters". Their motto would be "You can't beat us. We beat ourselves." :-)

How about 'Big Al's Pizza Parlor and Mortuary', or 'Cleats and Cleavage' for a coed team? Or Big Al's Heimers?(we were getting older).

Played against a team in mens league who named themselves "Balls Deep". Not really something I wanted my kids to see, but amusing still the same. Also tried to name our coed team "He's and Hoes", but the women wouldn't go for it.

Played on a couple of major fast-pitch teams in the 60's with neat names.

One was the "Nads"...when we would get runners on base or start a rally, the wives and other fans would start cheering.."Go Nads, Go Nads"

Another one was called DILLIGAS (short for Does It Look Like I Give A Shit)

Okay guys, from the ladies, I played on a co-ed team named 'Wally and the Beaver'. The next year it was changed to 'Muffs & Tuffs'. One year our women's team was named Stiff Competition. We thought it was a good name since we were very competitive and didn't associate it initially with some of the comments you guys verbally threw at us. The following year year it was changed to a very plain 'The Ladies'.

There was a team at St. George at about 2003 that were called the "Beaver Grinders". Said they could have paid for their trip by selling the uniforms.
