Broken Ultra II's?
I'm seeing people bidding over $50 on Ebay for cracked Miken Ultra II's, and almost $30 for one that is in two pieces. Can the pieces of these busted U2's somehow be salvaged and turned into useable equipment? What's the attraction of these damaged bats? I'm tempted to check all the trash cans at the next tournament.

Use your warranty card and send it it. Pretty cheap way to get a new Miken or any other bat is my guess.

If they are NR then most guys want the end cap. If they are not NR then these people who are selling them are strange.

So if you have a damaged U2, is it good or bad to have the "M" or "W" stamped in the end cap? When I saw these broken U2's attracting all the bidding on Ebay, I put up the shattered one I was going to throw away and already got a bid. It does have the letter stamped on the end cap. I bought it in April 2004 but never sent in the warranty card or saved the receipt, considering how indestructable people were claiming this bat was. It lasted six months. I figured I wouldn't have received another U2 as a replacement so I never bothered to follow through with any warranty stuff at the time.

If it has the W stamped in the end cap then it is a NR. I don't think anyone is selling returnable U2's now.
