May 27, 2010 Gary33 149 posts | Einstein will love this Quote Terry Meiners Don't worry about Simon Cowell's departure. If American Idol needs a mean, rude, judgmental nutball for the show, Internet chat rooms are full of them...as long as they can hide behind a firewall and anonymously judge from their mother's basement. |

May 27, 2010 einstein Men's 50 3112 posts | Thanks, Gary. As I've said a zillion times the great majority of senior players and over 80 of those who post on this website are known identities for all the right reasons. It's common decency and respect. It's the way most of us were raised and learned in the 50's and 60's where respect for others and self respect were given for communication among human beings. |
May 27, 2010 Omar Khayyam 1357 posts | Yes, einstein has said this a zillion times...and every time a falsehood. Anyone can take a look at all the posters on this message board over the last three months and determine that MORE than 50% of all of them are anonymous. Takes about an hour to do. I've done it. einstein is content to claim something despite obvious evidence to the contrary. So he demeans the majority of his fellow softball posters, saying they have no decency or respect, and wonders why he gets so much grief from others. |

May 28, 2010 Webbie25 Men's 70 2414 posts | American Idol? Is that still on???? I also stand behind my belief that a couple notches cooler bats would still leave a lively game, but take the edge off. Einstein showed he has his limits in another thread when he said he would not like a bat capable of ANOTHER 30 feet. A lot of us just draw the line a little earlier than he does. |
May 28, 2010 einstein Men's 50 3112 posts | Lively bats and balls forever and everything else is self interest, greed and ignorance talking. If it squeals like a pig, walks like a pig and smells like a pig, It's a pig. And in time and as we continue to talk and debate, the real pigs will become more evident with every sentence. There's an unwritten or silent sense to everything human including senior softball. It's how we figure out what's really important or essential or going on. The truth is not to be found in stats or facts, very often. It lives in the minds and hearts and unseen behavior of men and cannot be manipulated, defended against or overcome. "Wise men often fail where shrewd men can prevail" is an apt lyric from a Don Mclean song. The trouble with the rat race is the rats always win is another apt phrase. Anonymity whether lawful or not can breed non responsible, disrespectful and dysfunctional behavior in any society or group just like it has/can on this website. |
May 28, 2010 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | so we are now pigs, well i'll take that if it makes our game come back to what we used to play, and that includes defense. tell me who is the self interest one here, not me,omar,E4/E6,it seems like you are(b/c you need to have your ego stroked).we have not one penny invested in going to a new safer ball or taking bats back to a safer range. why aren't you asking ssusa or all assoc to have all bats we used to not break in past the bpf that is used(1.21 bpf for senior and 1.20 bpf for the rest).how about insisting that ssusa or all assoc make the mfg put the chip in the bat to tell if a bat has been shaved or the end cap taken off to end load a bat, again your ego won't do that.you need to have the hottest equipment around so your ego can be inflated,so tell us,how are we the self interest people.we are looking to save lives not kill people. |
May 28, 2010 einstein Men's 50 3112 posts | Relax, Robert. I wasn't being specific or care to and why did you think I was talking about you? The senior community will make it's judgment about you and me and the issues sooner or later. I'm self interested too but I think most of us want to hit lively bats and balls and a small but powerful few think it's wrong. I will chose. You will chose. We all will chose what we invest in with our time and purchases and that will be the ultimate test. |
