300 Snowbirds in Senior Softball??
300 is the number i have been given by Gary Tryhorn who got if from a reliable source but Terry Hennesey will not show him the so called Snowbird list either. Gary also wnet on to say that Hennesey and the SSUSA will do away with the Snowbird rule NEXT year. If he knows it is flawed, WHY wait until next year or at least give me names in my division so i can check it out for him and for my team as well. I was also told my Johnny Mac of the Ga. Crush that Ridge Hooks and the SPA plans on getting rid of the Snowbird rule next year as well.
I do not see where a docement to apply for Snowbird status is available through SSUSA so that leaves me to now believe that it is as simple as a manager or player making a phone call.
SSUSA if i am incorrect in either of these 2 statement,s please advise as i don't want to be Libelous here.
If there really is 300 Snowbirds, i still want to know how many are floating around in 50 major plus.
We did play a team in the SSUSA last year that was from the middle of the country yet had 1 FL. player and 1 Ga. player. who had burnt there bridges with there local teams and had to go North to get on a quality team. That seems to back up what RB Thomas was saying of the Snowbird rule which is just to simply get on a different team out of your region.
This migrating from the South up to the cold states of the North makes very little sense to me and i frankly don't believe it to be true at all.
IMO
Thanks

Sorry Sticks: but I have to lean w/MK; this is not crying, this is checking the rules. If MK, myself & others had not expressed some interest in this snowbird rule would you & others be aware of it & realize how it could affect your team? It is so easy to POSSIBLY abuse this rule that I had to bring attention to it. I NOW look at Senior Softball through a different set of eyes. What ODD rule can I expect to see at the next tourney. I will now proceed to ONLY play the game. This is sad that this rule can be contorted to such degree.

I agree with Tater and MK. Wait until this rule bites you in the butt and it causes you to lose a world championship. I guess I cant understand how a person in Florida would want a summer home in Georgia. Nothing against Georgia, but snowbird is ususally the other way around. I think this rule was meant more towards the older guys who have the money to live up north and go south for the winter. But I guess people fudge just a little to bend the rules to their advantage. Maybe this rule will be more defined next time or eliminated.
