60+AAA tournaments in July
We are a 60+AAA team from eastern Tennessee looking for a tournament in the first three weeks of July. There are no 60+AAA teams at the SPA Johnson City tournament.
Do any of you know of any other tournaments within about 400 miles of Tennessee? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Hombre

If you look at the SPA tournaments web page you can see the Watermelon Classic in Richmond, VA is same weekend as Tri-City Classic. I heard on my grapevine that there were 10 60+ teams signed up for Richmond. You could send the TD Scott Southworth an email for more info.

Check out Heart of Ohio SPA Tournament July 15-18 in Columbus, Ohio...Games played at 32-field Berliner complex. Tournament always packed with teams from Michigan, Indiana, Canada, Pa, Ohio...they always have a large tournout of 60's teams.

Larry Milliron (Name: Larry Milliron (614)506-3610)is running it this year in conjunction with the city of Columbus.

The SSUSA Crab Cake Classic (7/22-7/25) in Glen Burnie is also usually a well run tournament, where the tournament director will give you an honest number of the teams he expects to attend.

Early AUGUST check out the SPA HOOSIER CLASSIC in SHELYBYVILLE,IND (8/4 - 8/8) run by another honest TD in Duane Laird
Another tournament that draws well in the 60's Division from a FIVE-STATE area

Finally the SSUSA EASTERN NATIONALS in RALEIGH the first week in AUGUST in usualy a well run tournament with a number of teams.

But like any tournamen, always call ahead a few weeks early and have the TD give you the names of the teams coming in your age bracket. If two weeks before the tournament he can't give you a firm list, I would be a little cautious.

Hope this helps
