Oct. 18, 2010 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | Hitt2 Ok on that one, I only heard about it. What about the one scheduled for Oroville, put on by Pete D. who is on the board? Didn't see a cancel or flyer, maybe I missed it. Too many to keep up with, no wonder few fill up. Thanks. |
Oct. 19, 2010 Omar Khayyam 1357 posts | taits, Are you thinking of the tournament TWO weeks ago on October 2,3 in Merced? It was held and results are in. Only 9 teams, and the lowest NCSSA team ranking was 31. Still for seniors, but mostly the better (and younger) hotshots. Longhorns, as usual, dominated in their battle against Eastbay Oldies—one game 22 to 17, the other 27 to 13; another first place won by NorCal Reds against No Dice and Sluggers; third division won by Water Connection (who are they? 50s team out of Fresno—I've never heard of them before) against ODB, Timberworks, and J. Chubb. There were equalizer runs given to ODB since they were 10 or more positions lower than other teams in their bracket. All teams in NCSSA were invited and they had reserved two complexes in case of a good turnout, but they ended up just using Joe Herb Park. There were a lot of competitive games—it was a good tournament to watch. |
Oct. 20, 2010 hitt2 353 posts | Omar Your right it was a competitve tourney for most teams. Water Connection is a new 55AAA team out of Fresno. They are very good team. With their power could be moved to majors if they win a SSUSA event. Were you at this tourney? |
