Major Plus
To all double edge players, We have just won the winter nationals 60 major in Naples(Fort Myers). We had a great tourney against good competition. Now it is on to Major Plus!!!!We now get to play against turn2 or a 55 major team. I would rather give the runs or the extra man than play against somebody possibly 7 years younger than myself. We play on the east coast and it seems that the major plus teams are always drop to the next level. looking for opinions. We where 2 wins and 5 loses in PHX and that is the tourney that you guys won. Thanks Harry #20 NV FORCE

Harry, congratulations on winning the Winter Nationals in Florida. It was great getting to know you guys and play against you in Phoenix at the World Championships. Your win just shows that we were somehow able to beat a very good team when we played you. Good luck next year.

Birdie,
Don't forget that sometimes we get to drop down and play the 55 major plus teams. Now that is really fun. Then throw in some night games occasionally.
Congrats on your win.

Harry,
Congratulations. You have a very strong team. It was a pleasure to meet you and play against you. I am hoping we can get you guys in a tourney later this year. I want to even the record so I can speak with Skip. Good luck in the upcoming season.

Donnie, I have seen that happen too many times to you guys. We will just have to see how it works itself out. It was great to win against some strong competition. The Wisconsin team just ran out of gas. They had a great Sunday even though they were short handed. Thanks Harry

Bob, I told Skip what you said about the bragging rights and he just laugh. It was good to meet you and your team seemed like a great bunch of guys. We must have a rematch maybe at the TOC if you guys are coming. Thanks Harry

Harry,
Congrats,we're still together. Just don't know what kind of schedule we're going to play this year. We're still working on TOC(short players),hope to make it and play against NVF. Great to see you in Phoenix. I guess the only plus of M+ is less competition. If we had gone to Vegas this week we would have been the only M+ team, gone 0-5 and still been the champs at M+. Go figure.
Hope to see you in Fla.,good luck to NVF this year.

Hey John, We are planning on attending the TOC and hope the weather is better this year than last. The reward one gets for being successful is sometimes questioned but I would not trade the victory for anything. I have mixed emotions about Major plus but I do believe we will tee it up and see what happens.I did not realize it but we also qualified for the 2012 TOC and that was a bonus. I hope to see you and your team at the TOC in Feb. All the best to you and your family. Thanks Harry

Harry, Congrats on your win. We knew you were a lot better than you played in the East/West game and felt very fortunate to get past you in the double elims. You guys have a very good team and more importantly a great bunch of guys. We are planning to attend the TOC so we will see you there.

Harry, Congrats to my Virginia buddies! Have fun in M+! I played there until last year when our team folded. We now play Major since there are no M+ teams out here. Looks like next year I'm going to play 65M+ and 60M again. Hope to see you guys on the tourney trail. PS. Don't worry about Turn 2 - nobody beats them anyway! I think they MAY have only lost 2 Nationals in the last 4 or 5 years! Did y'all have Billy Cameron and/or Billy Rice playing?

Larry,
I know Billy Rice went with them. I don't know about Cameron.
Who will you playing with in 65 major plus? That division should be getting very tough also.

Larry, We did have Cameron and Rice. We where missing Randy Lewis. Billy C turns 60 in 2011. He is a great pick up for us.The only problem with Major Plus ( besides lack of talent on my part) is not having anybody to play. I will pass on the congrats part to everybody. Thanks Harry

Harry, Adding the two Billys had to make y'all stronger! I know from personal experience about the lack of teams to play in the Major Plus. When we had sponsors that paid for everything, we weren't overly concerned about playing 1 or 2 other teams. However, now that we pay our own way, it is not cost-effective to pay about $1000 a tourney (if you fly) to play a couple of teams. I think you guys will be quite competitive in Major Plus. You may not have the long ball power of some but your base-hitting and defense are excellent. If you use Turn 2 as a benchmark, it is a high one since they are the best 60 M+ team in the country and have been since they were formed. Good luck next year!

Donnie, You are right - the 65 Major Plus should be tough! I know Omen is moving up and I've heard rumors that Ed Rose may be putting something together in Florida. I'm not sure yet what I'm doing; I may be playing with Jim Cary's Texas Legends 65s bunch. How about you guys - are you staying 60s? I know Clatta and Billy Rice are 65 next year. Aren't Hutch and James McLamb in the "class of 2012"?

Harry,

Congratulations to your recent accomplishment, and welcome to playing no one. LOL! You are now the 17th 60 Major Plus team in the USA, and that is one team per every 3 States. Maybe we can get all 17 teams together and play a weekend tournament in mid USA?? Sounds good, but probably will not happen. Again, congratulations and good luck to you in the future.

Larry,
Hutch and Andy Zitnay will be in 2012. We will try to hagng in the 60's next year with our old 60 team. It is always very tough toward the end of any age group.
I remember we got hammered our last year in 55 ball by Conneticut Sportsplex in most events.
We will see you around somewhere.

Mel, Thanks and the same to you and your family. Harry

Larry, Bill R helped us out in the outfield as you know outfielders are hard to find. Billy C is a great pitcher who really works the batters and always hits.We will see how it all plays out in the 2011 season. Thanks Harry

Congratulations? Maybe. Now your prize is nobody to play. Hopefully you will keep your team together.

I now notice that Duke wrote the same thing. I'll leave my comment because it's true!

J, I believe that we will stay together and see how it goes. Try to play in three tourneys close by and see how we fair. Not looking forward to playing 55 or 50 Major teams. I cannot see any fun in that. We have been together a long time and I believe that we will continue to play as the NVFORCE. Thanks for the congrats or the condolences whichever is the case both are correct. Harry

Hitman, I am sure we will be running into each other. I do not hang around the ball fields much. There is to much Vodka to drink. Hope to see you soon and talk about the glory days Thanks Harry
