Nov. 27, 2010 JimS Men's 60 12 posts | Topic for Tucson This is an issue that came up at the managers meeting in Ft Myers when eveybody was warned not to use the parking lot at Lee County Sports complex for pregame batting practise. It is time for the associations that run tournaments to arrange for suffient authorized areas to be used for pregame BP for all the participating teams. Not all complexes used for a tournament have room for teams to warm up on and since the associations are already working with the local park districts it should be an easy thing to arrange. This would relieve teams from having to search for a warm up area and also relieve any potential liability issues |

Last year in Phoenix we hit in an open field with rocks etc. The open lot was right before some entrance to an outdoor concert place. It was a little dangerous with batted balls but I know that I did not get in front of anything. This year in Phoenix there were plenty of soccer fields but the fields were locked up. I do believe that a better effort could have been made to make these fields available. I believe that each tourney is different. The Lee county complex has some fields that are baseball but most of the times they are being used for the Roy Hobbs baseball tourney. Thanks Harry |

Nov. 27, 2010 birdie Men's 70 802 posts | Ken, All that I know about last year's TOC is it was cold. I do not remember having a problem with finding a field to hit. A permit is a good idea but to me it seems like a lot of trouble to go through to have batting practice. I hope to see you again at the TOC. Best of luck to you are your Spring Ford Team. Thanks Harry |
