Darn, Crusader-mine is still in the closet and we are coming out for the tourney in 2 weeks. How warm was it when you were hitting?

This bat is not proven yet,I don't care what all the sales reps are touting on here, If this bat is so much hotter than the Ultra, it CAN NOT be more durable,Read the reviews in 6 months of those who are buying the bat now, and decide then if it is really as durableas being described (as that is the only real question mark).I don't believe it can be as hot as described and also have any durability that is only common sense.

Temps there are upper 50's low 60's according to weather.com and 59 as I post. not sure is there is lag time on their site but at least the sun is out and not raining.
That is one reason I didn't get one of the first batch which I like to do. No real feedback had come out on things that martter, ie; performance and durability,
Excellent pricing though.

Crusadervb I hope I have better luck than you when I get my Melee. I don't plan on using it for BP. I have enough Utrips for BP.

This could be why I have been told never to buy a new car model the first year it is produced. Let someone else work out the kinks.

Crusader,
I would contact the company you purchased from. After 10 swings (and the wrapper still on) they should replace it. They'll certainly be able to tell it's brand new. A teammate of mine had a Miken U2 break after 3 games...we called them and they told us to get obtain a Return Authorization # (online). Even though these bats are with no warranty, most companies (at least Miken) will be reasonable. Can't hurt to try. Good luck.

I had my Ultra 2 break in half about and inch past the grip in Las Vegas. A mike rep told me to cantact Miken and they should replace because you could see that one side didn't have fibreglass on it. I got a ra# from Miken and sent to them they sent it right back and said no warranty.

Miken is NOT friendly when it come to replacing the Ultra, a teammate broke his Ultra with 10 swings on it, he took it to the Miken trailer where we were playing and was told there was nothing they could do about it.Everyone knows there are a few duds in every batch, you just have to hope you don't get one.Because of our experience with Miken,I would say you will have to just eat it.

Here is the information on my 28 oz endload Reebok Melee that cracked after 60 swings.
12/22/2010
Temp. 70 degrees
40 swings
Balls 44-375 Trump Stote that are stored in my house at room temp.
Bat is stored in my house.
The park is about 10 minutes away. We hit every Wednesday from 3:30 to about 5:00.
12/29/2010
Temp. 60 degrees
20 swings
Same balls 44-375 Trump Stote that are stored in my house at room temp.
Bat was in Pyro-Flite bat warmer from the time I left my house and at all times at field. Bat is stored in my house.

Durable: like Gary19; do not want to buy anything until it has shown reliability.

Who has gotten a lot of swings out of this bat; how many?

CrusaderVB: I have been reading this thread and all the comments. Please give me a call and I'll try to help out. If what you say is true and accurate, all should be ok. The Melee reps are out here trying to make a difference. There will be problems with every product out there. Your best option is to get in touch with a rep and not necessarily in this format. I hope this is some help to you. Ed

I agree, there will be some duds in every batch. I am not on here to badmouth the bat, just to share my experience and see if anyone else had like results. I don't see why anyone should have a problem with that. It did hit well. I was told by some good friends how durable the bat is and I believe them. It is just my luck to get a dud. I have been in contact with the Reebok reps in my area and am awaiting word on my bat.
