Reebok News
I wanted to share some Reebok Melee Legend news with you. As of today, over 2,500 bats have been shipped. The demand for the Melee well surpassed expectations and fewer bats were shipped to us than we expected. Some did not get their bats in a timely manner but 1,600 bats will be in stock by mid March so delays will be a thing of the past. If you have not yet received your bat, call me, I will respond.

With regard to bat replacements, I am told that every bat has been replaced but three. Research & development discovered they were shaved. Your bats should be on the way. I hope the wait will be worthwhile.

As it continues to warm up around the country, I am hearing more and more positive reports about the Melee.

The Classic Spring Training Softball Camp just ended Sunday in Jacksonville. It was once again, a success. In the Home run contest, 8 of the 9 senior competitors swung a Reebok Melee Legend. Two Ultra II's broke over the week-end. No broken Melee's.

Let me say "Thanks" for working with me. If I have been helpful to you, please tell a friend.

Too bad they don't let it be known who the shaved bats were owned by.

One correction Ed, the winner of the senior hr derby found Saturday morning that his Reebok was cracked. It was replaced by Curt and Lee.
I used my new 28el Reebok in the hr derby and was pleased with its performance. I probably have 50 swings on it now and will only use it in games.

I've never hit the balanced Reebok. I can compare the Reebok el to the U2 though. The U2 swings much quicker. I used a 29 and 30oz U2 about 4 years ago. From there I went to the gray sr combat, a 29el and from there I went to the MM in a 29 and 30el. The Reebok 28el has almost the swing weight as my 29 and 30el MMs.

After having heard a lot of negative comments on the Reebok I was a little concerned. After this weekend at the CST, I'm feeling really feeling good about it. I have about 200 hits on my 27 EL and am very pleased with the performance. It has lasted about 50 hits longer than my Miken maxload. I can't wait to get my blue combat broken in so I can compare the too.

Bruce my Reebok 28oz EL arrives today on UPS. Don't plan on hitting with it until the temp. is 75 degrees. I baught the 28 EL blue combat from Mike and my lucky me it's the hottest combat I have. You know me I have all of them.

I've been hitting the balanced Melee and will swing the EL Melee shortly to see the difference. The balanced Melee had good pop from the start. The swing on the balanced felt a bit lighter than the U-II so I got a Melee one ounce heavier. Will pass on what I see to be difference between the two. Ed

Hey, I'm the one of the seniors that did not use a Reebok in the HR derby at CST. The only reason that I did not use a Reebok is that I don't have one. I am waiting on mine to be delivered. I have hit with the Reebok and can confirm that it will outhit the U2's. If I would have had my Reebok I would have beat big Mike williamson!! HA! HA!

Hombre, my 1st Reebok lasted 400 swings. That is more than all the U2's that I broke last year (3). All together I only got 270 swings out of the Mikens.

Hey Guys, the Blue M M Combat is the same bat as the Yellow M M Combat, .Just painted Blue. My BP partner unwrapped both bats the Reebok EL 26oz and the 27 oz Blue M M last week Thursday, His words were at the end of BP. “the Reebok EL is hotter but I can't wait to see what the Combat does when it’s broken in". Now he wants to sale the Balance 27 Reebok. There is nothing like that Reebok End Load in my opinion. So Ed, The Question about Durability with the End Loaded bats, has that been addressed?

Thanks again Ed,
Kennard

I've taken a few swings with my melee 27 balanced and so far been hitting it around 280 ft. I've noticed even with mis hits the ball will jump off the bat. As the weather warms up and I start playing hopefully the bat will continue to perform good. Can't afford to keep replacing Mikens

Does anyone know the actual end load weight of the Reebok? Is it a full ounce or a half ounce?

Mario, if you got 400 hits from yours, I figure I'll get about 2,000. In fact, it may outlast me.

IMPORTANT NEWS: High performance composite bats should not be hit in cool/cold temps. This is true for most. Please refrain from hitting in cold climates and from hitting cold hard balls. I talked to someone today in Michigan who said to be careful when hitting indoors. This is designed only to be helpful and nothing else. Ed

i bought a 28oz EL from surf88 and it took a while to get here but he kept giving me updates and i respected that. Kurt Hollis even sent me an email when it was shipped. i have not hit it yet but like the feel and weight. I usually swing a 29 or 30oz black U2 and this Reebok feels as heavy.
surf did a good job for me that is all I can say now we will see how the bat is if it ever warms up here in Washington state.
Thanks:
James

JamesLG, you're right about the feel of the 28el. They have the same swing weight as my Combat MM 29el.

Mario you beat my Freak plus to death............I hit that bat for 5yrs before you and Big Phil got a hold of it. It finally gave up the ghost at BP in 2010. Just got the 2011 Freak+ players model and it has a yrs. warranty. It seems to be hotter out of the wrapper than the black one. Got a 30oz you can try when we start hittin outdoors. A HR is a HR whether it's 330ft or 350ft.......Gary S (BL) #44
