Born on the 4th of July!
There has not been a new bat in the past 20 years.
Now there is…..
American born
American made
American innovation that will prove we can do it better!

July 4th , 2011 baby……

WHAT ABOUT DURABILITY.......

This is the American innovation aspect. How can a bat have superior performance and long term durability?
The answer is to toss the way bats are made and stop making a new version of a old song.
What is coming on July 4th is a departure of the old and will bring to rest that players can stop asking ‘will it last, will it perform’. Of course the proof must be on the field and players will have to see for themselves.
That day is just around the corner.

A high performance bat with durability for thousands of swings? That would be awesome and worth it if it were a $400 bat.

A "superior performance" bat that is better than what is currently available? Remember the original Miken, now banned everywhere except outlaw leagues? I hope we don't have another powerful bat that exceeds the capacity of fields as well as human reflexes. That would be a disaster even at $39.99.

Old school thinking has us measure performance in simplistic terms of the ball hit in the sweet spot with a certain exit speed. We will learn that performance can include the distance and speed (within legal limits) plus overall performance of the barrel.
As when we cast away our old cell phones for the age of IPHONE we will see the same with bats.

Omar,
I did not read here thousands of hits and it won't happen for any batter that hits above average with any power. However he implies that along with the durability factor.
Wonder it this it the bat Marv19 is also talking about.

well nice side stepping, miken is building a bat right here in the good ol us of a,and guess what,it stinks, breaks if you use more than 100 swings, etc.i want something that will last me at least a 1000 swings.you people must think the senior baller is made of money and can just buy 3-4 bats a year at $200 a pop,and some break even more bats.

in the mean time i think i'll stay with my northern made bats(combat)as they do hold up.....

oh i don't have an iphone either,why....

When the very first thing out of your mouth is obviously not true, you might want to reconsider your marketing strategy.

It all depends on how you define 'new'

taits, I was assuming this is the same solid bat technology (no shell, no end cap, etc.) that was talked about earlier. It could have the same durability as the old aluminum single walls that easily had thousands of hits (my entire team used the same two single wall bats for three seasons of league and weekly practice—dumped 'em not because they broke but because we got tired of looking at them).

As to durability, it would be hard to top my Miken II, now in its ninth season and more than 4000 hits on it, maybe more with batting practice. It still isn't cracked, much less broken! And I am an above average hitter in tournaments with home runs every season with this baby. I know, it's a freak, and when it finally goes I will never find another like it (unless garyaz's bat is the answer!).

Omar,
That must be the original with stamps on it then, I had two, sold one with more than a years worth of games on it and another to a friend that had it last for 2-3 years that were playing 60s at the time and used it as a team bat. Have broke 4 others myself of later models and get almost as much distance with the grey combat.
As for single walls, I messed up too many to say any more on them.
But I don't think anything close to 1k solid hits will come about for what they call power hitters or close to it.

In that case, I'm a "genius".

Actually Gary's analogy is correct but I'd take it a bit further. Think of today's carbon fiber bats as a Beta Max. Most are hand rolled and with the senior bat they require a more precise roll thus the labor must be more specialized. To precisely hand roll a thin carbon fiber bat and do mass production is an equation not always met. So some bats are different than others to some degree. The sweet spot on a carbon fiber bat is usually the distance between the cap and the neck of the bat. Add in the way is made and the sweet spot will vary. Most of the time the sweet spot is in the center of this distance for maximum trampoline effect. Durability is measured by the maximum bat speed, how well the bat was made, where the impact locations are and if the bat is rotated. Way to many variables. I play with some guys that can get 2000+ hits on a Miken. That is because they don't develop anywhere the bat speed necessary to break the bat. That is why you hear guys say I got only 200 swings where others say I'm on 3 years with mine. Not every swing is the same and even if it were not every impact location on the bat is the same either. So now in 2011 there will be a bat to replace the Beta Max. Call it the VHS of bats. Actually I'd go as far as to say the DVD of bats. Its a completely new concept. The core is solid. That's all I'll say now. But because of the new technology the sweet spot is not dependent on the hollow barrel. So the sweet spot is now larger and more consistent. Because of the solid core construction the bat will not breakdown as fast as the hollow core will. This bat will revolutionize the way bats are made in the future. For more info go to our web site www.socalssa.com. In the next few days I will debut the new and different graphics there. Also any pre-sale info contact me direct and I will put you on a wait list. wwm1@adelphia.net Those of you that have standing orders Bill said he will honor those as well. Part of the hold up has been getting certification from the various associations. That being done the bat will soon be in production and the target release is for 7/4/2011. Born in the USA on the fourth of July. A completely new concept in carbon fiber bats. Also there should be one in Vegas. Contact Mac on Demolition. He should be swinging one there. The three new bats will be: Veteran (Senior) Spirit (ASA) and Freedom (USSSA)

Like I mentioned I'll put my 'money' on it being ballistic material layered with different types to produce specific impact results will likely be used. There ate many different materials that do or provide different results.
Search for ballistic testing or the like & read about them.
Might be strange seeing a bat 'fold' after its hit by a guy who can launch a ball 500 feet. It man not 'break' but I doubt it will stay straight.

Marv19, I was told about three weeks ago that I would get the new spirit bat in about 3 weeks. If I understand this all correctly, I will have to wait until the 4th of July. What is the estimated time of delivery for the new spirit bat if you have any idea. Thanks Harry

Harry all I can do is ask. I will tell you that Bill has had to spend a lot of time with ASA and the laboratory because of the new concept and design. I'm not privy to the conversations but my guess the hold up has been convincing them of the concept then have the lab testing. A project of this magnitude would require a lot of time, money and effort to get certification. I know this wont help but an estimate of delivery is just that an estimate. Anything along the way small or large could mess up the process. It isn't for lack of money as there has been a ton spent so far! I assure you and anyone else out there that people are working very hard to produce a bat that will give the majority what they want. I have been on this board a long time and when it comes to bats all I see is pop and durability repeatedly. They are mutually exclusive and two can only be achieved with this new technology.

Taits: You're not even close :O) I have been told even if you cut the bat open you still wont figure it out. I don't even know that's how hush hush it is.

Have a great and safe Easter everyone and may God Bless you all.

Who said a mouth full: O
" I don't even know that's how hush hush it is. "

No one will until its for sale and players actually use it.
Every bat that has had the 'hype' thrown out and many players got disappointed.
Time will tell.
Money will also be spent with ASA, given they get a piece of each bat sold, if its still like that now.

Nothing like using Easter as an excuse to Bible thump.

But you have a good holiday too.
