Reebok Senior Bat
Does the 1.21 on the label affect the senior rules in any tournaments so far this year? I believe one of the women's teams was not allowed to use theirs on Palm Springs earlier this year. We don't want to buy a bat we can't take everywhere .

I know of no senior organization that has not approved the Reebok Melee bat. The Melee is the official bat of SPA and SSUSA has also approved the Melee.I do not think the women were not allowed to use the Melee.

I recently heard that one tournament director in So. Ca. has not allowed women to use the bat in her tournament. I heard this from a player so do not know for certain that it is factual. If this is true, all players need to voice their protest with this director as SSUSA and SPA have both approved the Reebok Melee senior bat. Both of these senior organizations are highly regarded and both have stringent regulations in their investigative process before approving softball equipment and products for senior players.

If you are a senior player in the womens divisions, speak with your SSUSA officials and ask them to contact the tournament directors of the smaller organizations to share their information and views.

For those who may be interested, we also have a Reebok Melee ASA Approved bat with a one year warranty. This bat is great for league play for BP and for all around competition use. I recommend it for those scenarios. Takes about 100-125 swings to break it in.Costs a little more than the Melee Senior bat.

I have a 28oz Vector 2010 model and it’s the best USSSA bat in my bat bag. Better than the Combat Virus, the Miken Freak 98 I use it for BP and at the BLD, Now I have no idea about the ASA Melee but my Vector has about 400 swings and its good enough for Senior Games. Also It’s just my opinion. Oh yea, The Senior Melee End Load is a monster. Again, just my humble opinion.

Anaconda has the Melee on its site for 99 bucks free shipping. I used one the was rolled and it is as good as the Senior Reebok. A lot of pop for the money.

I bought the senior reebok preorder last year without a doubt the hottest bat I have yet to swing that being said my first one was preety good the second one only lasted 30 days and 125 swings all in above 75 degrees. I sent it back with return#s and receit. Has been a full 6 wks and they say it hasn't been prossessed yet???? When this one broke I bought another one it has lasted only 18 days and 60 swings since taking out of the wrapper.Had already ordered another one last week for a spare if had known this, would not have done that. As poor as MIKENS are they are a lot more durable than this. I bought a COMBAT SENIOR the same time as the first reebok that broke which was in febuary and it broke on the same day as the second reebok which isn't good but lasted twice as long as th reebok. Bought a grey senior miken last year in april it made it all the way to OCTOBER even using it in league play and some bp once it cracked I got 52 solid hits and probably 8 or 9 homeruns, once the reebok and combat cracked maybe 10 good hits maybe!!!!!! This is ridiculous. I'm not a big guy 6ft 198lbs more of a line drive hitter with some power. I'm starting to feel like we are being taken advantage of???????? Anyone else????????? Kind of frustrating!!!!

GaCMan: We learned that some of the Reebok's had fabrication shortcoming and some defective bats were shipped out. It is also a fact that Reebok intends to make things right. The demand for the Reebok increased quickly and supply could not meet the demand. Reebok is replacing the defective bats. R&D just got a shipment last week and bats are shipping now. Manufacturing corrected the problem and should not see much of the problem into the future. Still, an amazing bat and we are getting positive testimonials every week from guys who love this bat. Your feedback is appreciated. I expect you'll get your bat replaced and you will enjoy it.

Just a heads up. I contacted my Reebok Rep and he gave me an address to send my bat for replacement. I contacted Reebok to check on the status of the return and they ask me for an RA# (return authorization number). I told them the rep said send the bat to this address and he didn't mention I needed an RA#. I knew from sending bats to Worth & Miken an RA# was required but from what I was told by the rep I just sent the bat in to Reebok w/o an RA#. Reebok had the bat for almost two weeks but when I contacted them they had no record of recieving it. When I gave them my UPS tracking # they found my bat. They promished to contact me with a return status, that hasn't happened. A great performance bat but Reebok has some real problems in the warranty/bat return end of the business.

Reebok Melee broke in half in the sweet spot during BP today, the day before we leave for the Burlington SPA qualifier. By "cracked in half" I mean the top five inch section of the barrel was hanging on to the rest of the bat by an inch or so of fiber strands. I've cracked bats before, including an Ultra and a Macenko Senior Combat, but the Reebok flat out disintegrated. I mean, come ON! Bought it from Anaconda a couple of months ago. Very disappointed.

I bought a balanced end load from Curt Holis the beginning of April. It cracked after 40 swings in batting practice in warm weather using 44 core balls. I sent it back in and it took 1 1/2 months for me to get a replacement back. In the mean time I started using an end load Reebok that I bought from Ed Andrews and liked it better than the balanced. I tried to get them to ship me an end load back instead of the balanced, but that did not happen. Curt and Ed agreed to replace my balanced with an end load, so when I saw Ed this weekend at the Texas State Championships So other than having to wait so long for my original bat to get replaced, I was happy with the customer service. I really appreciate Curt and Ed replacing my balanced with an end load.

I bought an end loaded 28oz from Curt Hollis in December. I use it in tournaments only. It has about 150 swings on it and is the hottest bat in my bag. I never swing it in BP and never hit wet balls. (insert joke here)

Sunday, I asked Mamma if she would buy me a new 29oz Reebok for Father's day, if the guy I was getting it from had a 30, I would get a 30 EL.

Bats are a personal choice and some hitters are better suited for different brands/styles of bats. I have heard of every brand and model of bat having issues at some time or another.

I am not a distributor nor am I deriving any sort of remuneration for this endorsement.

Well, all is not so good in the land of Reebok. I'm not the biggest guy swing Reeboks, So Why are my (2) Melee 27 end loads CRACKING with less than 80 swings. Did they knowingly ship out bad bats when they started replacing all those cracked end loads? I wonder. I bought the bat in good faith, after hearing that the bat was DURABLE. 400-500 swings are what we were told. Don't take my word; go back to the early Post (Nov. of_2010) about the Reebok Melee. Well, did you see what... well I won't mention any names Curt; by the way Curt said he isn't a Rep. Somebody is not being Truthful about the Durability.

They should have said...The Reebok Melee End Load gives you Better distant but less Durability, Life expectancy + or - 2 months or 80 swings. Which ever comes first?

I would like to share this and then I plan to refrain from additional dialogue on this topic. All manufacturers have issues with broken bats. I cannot say why yours broke. I get emails from players who tell me they have hundreds of swings on their bats. I hear stories of broken bats from every bat manufacturer out there. Reebok had a very small percentage of bats with a slight problem and the problem has been fixed. Claims deemed legitimate by Reebok, are being taken care of. In the coming months once they have cycled the replacement bats out, the replacement policy will most probably be stopped. I do not believe that anyone at Reebok or any other company has anything to gain by not speaking truthful to consumers. Thank you for the opportunity to share this opinion. It is my own and not a statement from Reebok International.

Who do you think you're talking to, some school kids, Companies lye and falsify. Salesmen are always lying to sell their product. That why were in this sh-- today. People lying to gain something. But I'm DONE with Reebok. When anyone ask about the Melee End Load, I will
surely tell the Truth about what I feel and know about this bat. Good Pop, But no Durabiity this is my own Opinon

There is no whining here.

Kennard has not had good experiences with the Reebok and can express his opinion. It is a fair exchange of ideas and thoughts. If we are so willing to post our good experiences then it is just as likely and reasonable that someone would have a different experience.

I for one have had a good experience, but I have no desire to muzzle or attack the comments of someone who did not share my position.

I WAS DONE!
First of all I don't swing Mikens anymore. I've been there and done that. It’s been Combats for 3 years now. But it sounds like your doing the whining, Whining about my issues with a bat. My issues with a manufacture, My Issue period.

Whining... keep reading...You haven’t send shit yet.
So everyone that discusses any topic on the board is whining. I thought that I was passing on vital information to add to this post on Durability.

I see we have a New self supporting WHINNER on the board that gets board real easy. I wonder just how long we will have to deal with this.........

Thanks Mike and mad dog, I appreciate this board for the simple fact, that I come here and get great information on playing Softball, health, ways to save money playing this game(buying equipment) and checking on old friends and making new ones.

Buy the way....I do believe that ED Andrews is a Stand up Guy. He was very helpful with my first Bat(Reebok) return, even though he did not sale me the bat. I see his name(sur88) all over the place helping people like me with their issues, Thanks again Ed. I'm still looking forward to meeting you one day.

Hey, Ed-I'm finally going to weigh in on my Reebok 28 oz balanced. We talked about this in Laughlin. It has at least 250 swings and is definitely very hot. Jack got a pic of me hitting a grand slam with it in that tournament. I have used it some in batting practice, also, because I have had a problem getting used to the swing. It seems to 'lag' some when I go opposite field with it, and some swings when I try to place the ball to the right field side of the pitcher near the middle. I have tried for half a year, but that feeling has not gone away, and I do not have that feeling with the U2. That makes me hesitant to go opposite field with it, and that is never good in hitting. My thought is I must be a bit ahead of the flex of the bat when I swing. Curt did tell me they might be working on a bat with a bit less flex. I will be very interested, because the pop is there and it has lasted longer than any bat I have had for a long time. For what it is worth, I do recommend the bat highly. It is hard to experiment with bats at $200 each, but may try a Combat next. My U2 is so compromised it has no real pop left.

Appreciate the feedback Web. I was using a 27 B at Phoenix and Vegas. Just wasn't exactly right for my swing. In Mesquite, I switched to a 28EL. The rest is history. Can hit opposite field with it when situation presents itself. Hope to see you soon.

My 1st Melee lasted 410 swings. I'm on my second one and it has 160 swings on it.This is already saved me money, because last year I broke 4 Ultra II's. I'm a big guy , so I need something that will last. So far, for me, its the Reebok.

met ed andrews for the 1st time in laughlin, where i broke a 26EL melee w/under 100 swings.
i did not buy it from him but he gave me info for a return and i received my new bat in the mail today. nice surprise. i have broken a 27 balanced (300 swings)and the now replaced 26EL to date... i use them very sparingly in BP now. the melee is not the savior of the senior circuit, but is at least as durable as the U2 w/equal crush. finally, just bats has the combat centenarian on their website with a 1 yr guarantee. upon further review, and contact w/combat, that is NOT the case. no senior bat w/a guarantee. thanks ed.

As reports come in, it looks like the new Reebok Melee is not yet the answer for durability with pop, but it sure looks like a rep such as Ed Andrews is a key to staying happy in case your bat breaks prematurely. Thanks, Ed, for being a stand-up rep. Makes me consider buying a Melee myself.

mad dog, although I am now a "home run hitter", I am not a gorilla swinger! My 2003 Ultra II has more than 4000 swings on it! I bought a Combat earlier this year (probably influenced a bit by you) because I can't believe my Miken keeps going and going and going. I like the feel of the Combat in batting practice, but it isn't broken in yet. Still, it is almost up to the Miken and I have high hopes for it in case I ever need it.

the combats are strange for breakin sometimes,at least mine were.had one that after 150 swings it still wasn't opening up.you will find the combats will last if your swing is like you say it is,4k on an og u-2 is great,i had one that was getting close to 1k when i traded it to a guy who feel in love with it,i had like 4 or 5 more(with the ASA stamp) at that time(2005) as i was buying them up b/c the kids couldn't use them any more :):)
i also think you would like the reebok, but it takes a bit to breakin,i'm not really trying to make you a bay ho tho,so maybe you should stay with your combat especially since your u-2 is still hanging in there.:):):)
