May 27, 2011 Brett Men's 55 239 posts | I have always been told that divisions will be rotated to different complexes each year. This will be the second year in a row that the 50 major plus division is scheduled to play at Grayhawk. SSUSA staff, please explain why. I'm pretty what your reasoning on this subject will be, but would prefer to hear your reply. |
May 27, 2011 kbl Men's 60 544 posts | brett--50 major + and 55 major + most likely play at this complex because fences are 325' and also the numbers (teams). IMO. thanks, ken |
May 27, 2011 Brett Men's 55 239 posts | kbl - Last year I was told we would not have to play there again 2 years in a row. |
May 27, 2011 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | really think the 40 masters upper div,and 50-55 M+ teams and maybe the 60 M+ should be on the bigger fields, why not.you already get to use the hottest bat/ball combo in all of the assoc's out there,do you really need a short fence to make yourself feel good..... |
May 27, 2011 softball4b Men's 70 1248 posts | I think 50 Major+ and 50 Major should be on 325'. 55 Major+ is 50/50. In the past, I was told they are playing there because of the level of play and the number of teams elsewhere. 50AAA is playing there as overflow. At 55, in my mind, it is more of a safety issue with all of the running the outfielders have to do. |
May 27, 2011 Brett Men's 55 239 posts | Very few teams 'rated' major plus in the 50 division can hit their limit of 10 home runs on a 325 foot fence, especially when factoring in hitting in to the wind and sun. The key word there is rated. Playing on fields that size puts even more of a difference between the teams that can and those that can't. Playing on a 300 foot fence somewhat levels the playing field a little more in this division. |
