Dallas tourney
For the guys playing at kiest in dallas this weekend, please be careful.
The temps will be in the mid 90's and there is not much shade out there so the heat will be bad.
Drink lots of water and get out of the sun as much as you can.
I will be out there this weekend having fun and I want everyone else to do the same.

anyone know where field #6 is at Kiest? I can guess that is on the north side of the park just wondering which field specifically.

Field #6 is the middle of the three fields that run across the north of the Kiest Park property. Field #5 is most westerly (and is not being used for this tournament because of inadequate fence distance). Field #7 is the easterly field of those three. Fields #6 and #7 will host seeding games and preliminary bracket rounds, but all Championships and as many later bracket games as possible throughout the tournament will be played on the four fields of the quad (Fields #1 through #4).

staff that is a nice way of putting it,field 6,7 are out in the boonies, only port-o-potty's and no concession stand.also these fields are no where near as nice as the main complex.also last year if we had to play an if game,it was scheduled back there.

OB i used my combat all weekend in reno to hit them out,so there........LOL.....

We tried this year to keep as many bracket games as possible off Fields #6 and #7, and were moderately successful ... There are only eight (8) total bracket games "out back" during the entire tourney, and ALL Third Place, Championship and 'If' games are on the quad fields #1-4 ... Good luck everyone!

thanks staff, those back fields are the pits, nothing back there for comfort(potty or food),but given it is the only complex(other than BLD,Mansfield and heritage in plano)with more than 4 fields,oh well......

we lost in the semi to willies.
I was tired and left so I am not sure how it ended, it was silverbacks and willies and willies had the loss.
I had a great time and the tourney was very well run, even though some fields were pretty far away Kieth brought the rosters down so we didnt have to check in and then drive to the other side of the park and he kept water which was very importantin those conditions.

Hey Mad Dog, Silverbacks beat Willie's in the "if" game to win it all! Keith said that all the finals on Sunday went to the "if" game. Seems like it was a very balanced tourn. Had a great time and meet some new friends again, got to love this Senior ball!!

Not sure how balanced the 65 division was. We had to play the Texas Legends (like every tournament).

Major against AA is tough.
Do enjoy playing them though.

One of these days we will beat them and they will be so embarrassed they will probably disband.

I wanted to thank the SSUSA Staff (Keith and Don), the Kiest Staff (Barbara) and all the teams that competed in Dallas. Coming from Colorado, my wife and I felt that Dallas heat but enjoyed the tournament. Sunday was pretty exciting to watch 5 "If" games going on. Had never seen that many in a tourney before.

Thanks also to all of you that visited our Reebok tent at the complex. I hope we did a good job there and made it a bit easier for you to get your hands on a Melee. If you get a chance to email me and share your feedback, I welcome pro and con. Good luck to everyone in the coming year ahead and I was glad to meet a lot of you there.

Instead of using Keist, someone should check into the facilities in Arlington, TX. They have two complexes that are excellent, Randol Mill and Harold Patterson. There is plenty of lodging, restaurants and other amenities close by. The complexes are 20 to 30 minutes apart. Infields and outfields are big league quality in my opinion. A much, much better location than Kiest in all ways.

There are other parks that would be better IMO.
Waxahachie has 6 fields that are always in very good condition and are set up so that you can get to all of them easy.

I mentioned Arlington because the fields are pristine and there is so much close by. For example, a huge mall and the Rangers if they're in town. Beats sitting around the hotel.
