REEBOK MELE DURABILITY
As I posted before...I loved the Bat but was uncertain of the durability..5 tournaments counting the one this weekend in Oakdale..."it broke".so im going to rule that one out...i still have my 1.5 year old miken ultra 2 end load..and still good to go..do any of these last?..i will try the new demarini senior bat when its available..but so far my red miken still the best..

I have cracked TWO 27oz end loads, 1st one in Jan. and my 2nd Melee (replacement bat) in May. BOTH with less than 80 swings.
I'm Very Disappointed in the DURABILITY of the bat.

Quit using the melee for batting practice. It's for games only.

I bought an end loaded 28oz from Curt Hollis in December. I use it in tournaments only. It has about 150 swings on it and is the hottest bat in my bag. I never swing it in BP and never hit wet balls. (insert joke here)

Sunday, I asked Mamma if she would buy me a new 29oz Reebok for Father's day, if the guy I was getting it from had a 30, I would get a 30 EL.

Bats are a personal choice and some hitters are better suited for different brands/styles of bats. I have heard of every brand and model of bat having issues at some time or another.

I am not a distributor nor am I deriving any sort of remuneration for this endorsement.

Kennard you are too big and strong for a 27oz. BTW how is your hand, sorry I got that ball anywhere near you.

I got 410 swings out of my 1st Reebok Melee Lengend. I have 150 swings on my 2nd one and its still going strong. I broke 4 Mikens last year, all with less than 80 swings on them. I'm a big guy, 6"5", 285lbs. I just want bats to last longer than 80 swings or so. So far , for me the Reebok is the answer.

monts39.........sorry, I was trying to give Kennard a hard time. Keep swinging the red end load in games only and don't let your teammates use it. The original gray senior combat had good pop and lasted for a while. I don't know about the 2012 model. Of course, the U2 with ASA stamp will out last any of the other Ultra 2's.

I got a couple of real early production 26bal Reeboks that both broke in less than 15 swings each. Surf88 took care of them for me. I got a replacement 26bal now that I can't even crack the paint on & it is hotter that h***. I can swing senior bats on my Tues & Thursday leagues. & play tournaments on the weekends. I will buy no other bat. Like Monts39, I never swing them in BP. I haven't been this happy with a senior bat sine the Original Ultra II's came out. I sure hope that Miken hears this & takes heed. There's a new sheriff in town, named REEBOK...........

I just returned from Dallas and the Texas State Championships. This was the first SSUSA tournament sponsored by Reebok. We placed bats on all fields and let players in all divisions use the Melee's. There were no broken bats to my knowledge. I saw a mix of bats used throughout the tourney. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, in my opinion. Thanks to Keith, Don and Barbara for your hard work and cooperation in Dallas.

LET’S GET THIS STRAIGHT, I'M COUNTING BP SWINGS AND GAME SWINGS, AND THE F ING BAT CRACKED. No one else swings my bats. My BP bats are a Combat Virus USSSA and a Reebok Vector USSSA bat. The 2nd Melee EL bat only was used in BP when I first got it (5 swings) and the afternoon win I cracked it (4 swings). The reason for using it in BP the day that it cracked, was because a couple of 40 year old man were hitting with Miken and Combats and they were launching balls 400' and more. The Challenge was on. So I hit a couple about 350 and better when CRACKKKKK. Then I got sick in my and MAD, my 2nd End Load. What’s up with this Bat? I think you guys are lying about these 200 and more swings, NO F ing WAY!!!!!! and I use 44 core 375 balls.

Mike, that was one of the hardest hit ball in years that I wished I had not of caught at 3rd. Yea my hand HURT, kind of made me Gun shy on your next ground ball (smiling).

Kennard, you are just an animal. The first 2 Reebok's I got also broke in less than 15 swings each. When I say broke, they were each broken in 3 or more places. The replacements & others that I have purchased are awesome. I used one bat in Rock'n'Reno. It never broke & I did hit my fair share of homeruns with it. To say it was cold, was an understatement. It hailed & snowed in one of the games. The temps were in the 30's, I do use a Pyroflite Microwaveable bat warmer. I won't hit any other senior bat...... I already broke 3 Combats earlier this year & gave up on new Mikens 2 years ago.

I have had one since September of last year when they were first put out . It has been used in a lot of games by a lot of people and it is still going strong. I don't hit it in BP any more but did early on. I play for team Reality Check and in a recent tournament several guys on my team used this bat. I am a Rep for the bats but those that know me know I would not embellish the facts. While the one I have is still strong I also do not doubt that there are bats that are failing early. At least Rebook has made an effort to replace a lot of these failures.Just my opinion

At least Rebook has made an effort to replace a lot of these failures. The Effort was appreciated when they replaced the 1st Reebok (less than 80 swings), I was expecting a replacement bat from the 2nd batch of redesigned End loads. But it looks like they sent me the same bat (less than 80 swings). I bought the bat from Curt

Blacklast, Curt or Ed, Send me a 27 END LOAD (new batch) and if it passes 200 swings, I’ll let you charge it to my credit card (again). I’m really tired of of hearing people say "I have 400,I have 500 swings,,
Put up or Shut up about this Durability issue, email me lets take this off line.

Better yet send me a 28 or 29 EL
, Mike thinks I need a heavier bat.

Kennard, I spent more time, effort and energy trying to help you earlier and after reading your most recent thread, I don't feel good about spending more time trying to help you. Had you contacted your sales rep, Curt or myself beforehand, perhaps a different story but this kind of public display does not attract good will nor does it prompt anyone to want to help you, in my humble opinion.

I think Mike may be right. In my case, I went up from a 27B to a 28EL and the ball jumped off my bat and lasted a long time.

I spoke with you Ed when the First and Second Melee cracked, you knew, and you told me to return it. I did for the 1st bat. Because I play the game like this, you (Reebok) may fool me once but not Twice.
I have no problem with hitting long balls with any USSSA or Senior Bat. What I need is Durability.
Durability, which is what, attracted me to the Reebok. The posts said that guys had 400+ swings and climbing!
Come on Man! What did you say...Public Display....... Reebok is on Public display.......You Reps made sure of that.... and I helped with all the positive remarks and emails to Team mates and other Senior players about the POP you get.....this Post is about the Durability of the bat, and I'm not feeling it.
Ed, I already thanks you and Lee for your help in replacing my first bat. Thanks Again. I won’t be sending in the 2nd End Load because I intend to make a weight bat out of it. Good Luck Ed, I'm done

By the way, if anyone in SO CA that wants a weight Bat, its $10 and any Cracked composite. Email me and I will bring them to the local Tourneys. Thanks Danny and Bam for the idea and the Cracked bats. I’m selling them to a lot of women who like the small size.

Kennard, I can understand you being upset but perhaps you should consider sending your bat in to see if they will replace it as they did before. For sometime, they did not have replacement bats to send out but they have been replacing bats of late. If they replace it, you can sell it. There are guys out there that want them. Sorry.
