Classification question
How does a AAA team roll through a 14 team Winter World Championship, beating teams by an average of 8 runs, carrying a Major Plus player on their roster, not get bumped? Can anyone give me some insight as to how this could happen?

That's an answer but not a reasonable one. I would like someone to tell me how this happens?

Winter Worlds are the first tournament of the new year. New rosters, as well. Both SSUSA and SPA have said many times that they only automatically bump up their national championship winners. Other than that, one tournament won't necessarily change a teams classification. I'm sure that this performance will put them on the radar to be watched, though. If it continues, I'm sure it will change their classification. With regard to the Major Plus player...by rule he can't play AAA UNLESS he was deemed a "non-impact" player on the Major Plus team.

Also, I've heard the major-plus tag lasts two years. After that period it is possible to get the exemption and play AAA.

There was much reorganizing among teams in our area this year including the team in question. Many are likely being watched and Mr. Dowell will be here watching teams and pitchers (another thread) this week and next weekend at the Jim Sherman. If someone should be bumped after this one or after Western it'll happen. The evidence will have to be clear and it will be decided by SSUSA, not by the opinions expressed here by the victims.
