Veteran CORE is almost ready.......
We thank all those that have waited as we move from getting bats made in China to building our factory here in the USA. The move is far more than just setting up a simple production line to make antiquated copies of ordinary design. The bat market is a banquet of the same cake with different frosting, different yet the same. What we are striving to accomplish is original in design with the end result to prove performance and durability can be achieved in a senior bat. We also aim to show that American ingenuity is not a thing of the past but alive and well in a product 100% made in USA. The task is complex to say the least however when finished we will join an elite few that actually own and operate their own factory with full control over design and production.
The sales team is anxious, the engineer is reserved and the factory is almost ready to go. So please hang in there as we approached the runway for takeoff.

Sources say mid to late August. I'm suppose to have a production sample at the Tournament in Temecula 8-6 8-7. The plant in S.C. is in the final stages. Distribution protocol is being finalized as we speak or type. That's all I know right now! "Good things come to those who wait" ... In this case it's a bat and not beer :O)

UPDATE: We have some engineering adjustments that are very complicated so it looks like mid September will need to be our target date. Please note that we do not have a deadline or are we behind in any way. We are creating a completely new design to resolve the dilemma of senior bats. The CORE is one of the most technology advanced senior bat ever produced, it cannot be shaved, cannot be rolled or altered in anyway. Will performance and durability stand superior? We will let the CORE answer that on the field very soon. Building a new factory and creating a technology is no different then what the Army used to say, “just hurry up and wait”.

If this bat proves real it will be a great relief for power hitters that start a tournament wondering if their bat will still be ok at the end.

gates24, have no intention of visting factory unless it is close to Big D.. I am going to need a new bat next year and this sounds like a long term bat. It just seems like something you can talk about in cyberspace that may not be real. Strange the factory does not have an address.

Marv19, I’m interested in pre-ordering a Bat but the web site was a dead end. Also, do you have info on weights and balance? I would like to see a Picture of the final design too, the taper is important, a short taper results in handle flex that I don’t like. That’s the problem with the Reebok, it hits well but has way too much flex, compare a Reebok to a Ultra and you’ll see what I’m referring to.

Since our factory is in South Carolina (and not product ordered from China) we will have bats in stock and ready to ship. In terms of swing flex you will find the CORE pure to form, somewhat like swinging a wood bat (remember it is solid) with senior level performance. Another key dynamic is the hitting area. Antiquated bats have a traditional sweet spot which allows maximum flex within a set ‘spot’ on the barrel. The CORE has maximum flex ability cross 81% of its 12” barrel.
Pictures will be ready soon as we get closer to the finish line.

Since the CORE has a different feel that the normal bats I am not sure how to answer that question. Would think the 28 balance would work however if it does not we will work with you to make sure we get the right fit.

Gater, you'd be better off not saying anything until you have it in your hands ready to launch. From someone who has been in the retail sporting goods field for the better part of my adult life, this has not been good for PR. If you can't deliver now, what makes anyone think it can be delivered later? Best of luck!

Solid advice....just keeping in touch with the many that are asking. So many emails and calls, this is a great way to let them know where we are. Thank you for wish for luck....please note that we have not taken any pre orders, we will wait till the bat is in hand and since we don't have to wait for a slow boat from China we will be able to deliver very fast.

Mr. Gates, You know we all are pulling for your success...but you need to deliver. This is a very difficult business ot break in...market share, confidence, trust, and not to say that we all have swong other senior bats that we like. We can change our habits, but we have to have something to swing with in order to change it. Bottom line, we are still waiting...I just heard that ASA and Utrip are requiring that bats after 2012/13 do not have an end cap. If true that will take some of your thunder away. Good luck.

Another month has gone by and still no definitive expectation of delivery. I spent a lot of years in manufacturing and appreciate how difficult it is to build a production line and bring a product to market. However, what is not difficult is to keep the stock holders (I.E. those of us who have paid for a bat and are expecting delivery) apprised of the situation. There have been no email updates, no information regarding testing of prototypes, nor do we have any idea how long we will have to wait for delivery based on how many bats are pre-sold. At the very least, most of this information could be put on one of the several Gates Bats websites that exist.

Don't know about MTC having any problems with Joe. Matter of fact joes team is getting some help from MTC.

But now the real issue.... Joe, supporting bats being made in a right to work state just might get you thrown out of the I love Obama club. I mean after all.... Did you not read the current socialist manifesto being push by the DEMs and the NLRB.

Taits: Your absolutely correct I should have known and I did know the portal to the factory was down. When I found out I wrote to Bill last week and he said they are working on a new web site and it should be up soon. About the only thing I can do is add a note to that effect on the web site. However Bill did post a message on another board to the effect that they were set up for shipping but were ironing out some bugs in production. Sorry for the reaction time but I have been really busy getting the new bat bag started and orders shipped out, working on the new "Chase for 2012", Promoting our association, preparing for the November tournament, getting prizes out the door from the So Cal Championship and finally interviewing a trade mark attorney. To me its a little pathetic to have a former partner not only attempt to put us out of business by scheduling tournaments a week before or after ours and in one case the same day at the same park (seriously) but then try to steal my brand identity in the process... simply pathetic. Time will tell.

I have witnessed so many off brand equipment products come and go. Some were as good as the top brands, but marketing and delivery is the name of the game. For that matter, there have been products that have been better than the top equipment products that have gone by the way side because they could not get enough market share fast enough.

You might have "thought" about that near the end of the business 'marriage'. As you know 'business' of any sort can get to be cut throat. I think that's the stage your in.
I don't know DR's back ground but know some of yours and I think you can get through it with better planning than the one I posted about and just do it right.
The fireds down there are for the most part great, One exceptions might by the open field parks.
I haven't seen anything on the positive or neg side of the Lancaster T. Wonder it it happened...

I heard Lancaster had 6 teams show up. Two were Titans and of the 4 remaining at least 3 needed to qualify for Phoenix.

Where are those open fields? The SCSSA doesn't have any tournaments on open fields.

Have fun in Phoenix. Wish I didn't have a conflict. My friend there offered her Phoenix Sun's box seats if I would have gone. Nice seats too.

Not going 2 PHX. Surprised your not though.
Ethics comes in various forms I'd say. But feedback from associates, friends etc you get a clue at least. Kinda like the feedback on E-bay. I read the majority of the latest somewhere in the middle and for sure the first ones people I dealt with had.
Got burned once from someone in Europe, got another arrested and served about 3 years in PA. Haven't been on there for 4-5 years now.
I knew one Titans team was going wasn't sure about the other.
Six teams? Not sure that covered cost.
Open fields are in a city T's are called by another cities name. Forget that too. Was about 5 years ago when there.

Not a puppy any more…..the web site (gscbats.com) is upgrading to a new host and will be up when we are ready. As for as production we are still building the production line. Found some issues that needed to be fixed before production and as we understand many have been waiting it is still better to get it right from the start. As we stated before we are not in a rush to deliver and have found it is better to change the tooling now then later.
