Good Luck at the Midwest Championships
I just wanted to wish everyone attending the Midwest Championships good luck. I do have a general question, though, because I am sad that there are no Indiana teams. Why will a team from Indianapolis drive 450 miles to Dalton but not 490 to Shawnee? The guys that I have asked have told me that it is because they have to fly, but again I fall back to the difference of 40 miles that they will be driving to Dalton. There are no Kentucky or Ohio teams, but they are closer to Dalton and further from Shawnee; so I am not picking on them. I was fortunate enough to see some of them in Shelbyville last week. So I will be rooting for Doug and Don's who will pass through Indiana on their way to Shawnee.

HEY Nancy....not sure, WHY...they put the Mid West Nationals in Kansas????????????????
We'd have drove 200 miles to play...NOT 500+. There would have been some more 55AA there, LIKE US who would have made the bracket competitive.

Oh well, SPA was is in Columbus, Ohio next weekend, we'll play that. It's in our back yard.

Best to all the teams going to Kansas....

JC, if you are in California, Kansas sure looks like Midwest from there. I saw some of your fellow Ohio players on Friday in Shelbyville. Hopefully I will get to see you sometime this year. It has been too long since I have been to Berliner and its 31 diamonds.

I just came back from these (65+ session) and it was a very well-run tournament, despite some weather problems on Thursday.

I guess "Midwest" is a matter of perspective. My daughter and son-in-law lived in Cleveland for a number of years and I never could see why they called it Midwest. Seemed like North to me, especially in the winter. You're all Yankees to us! :)

Midwest Express beat us (Crackerbox) in the finals of the 65+ Gold Division. Left before anything else was finished.

Grumpy55 ... Tournament Director FedEx shipped the scoring data back to Sacramento on Monday with the other tourney related equipment and supplies ... Will get to it as soon as I get off the fields from the Western Nationals Sunday night ... Should be online by mid-next-week ...
