Cal Cup
First I want to say to the SSUSA staff, "Well Done" the CC event didn't have the teams it has had in the past, but the venue was nice, weather hot, umpires were consistent. No parking fee was charged which was really great.
The balls were ok it seemed the younger teams were hitting them out more. I'm still not in favor of mixing division. It was a fun weekend and I was able to meet with some board member met at other events and a new one that joined our team. Congratulation on the all tourney Gary. It was a good weekend all in all.

Budda, your experience was not ours when we lost the "if" game in our last two qualifier tournaments. SSUSA came on the field for the presentation, was gracious and complimentary, explained what the win meant, took photos, made a big deal out of giving the trophies to the managers, etc. Maybe there was a scheduling problem or a protest issue and SSUSA officials were needed elsewhere? Very odd.

I had the same experience as you Omar. We came in third in the 55+ division but won the AAA and they called us back to give us our awards and all tourney patches after we had left the dugout.

SSUSA Staff/ Dave I think there needs to be a correction in the 55+ division results? The AAA TOC went to ODB not J&J.

Fastsam got the photos Thank-You. Glad you & C made it home safely. Rest up we're at again this weekend at BLD. & there is a Wavier on line for the Miken bats.

Budda12 sorry to hear it ended that way, like it was memntioned something else must have happened, because SSUSA make it a point to recconize the finalist and present awards in a dignified manner. At least thats always been my expereince.

While we all wish more teams had made the trip because this was an excellent tournament. The fields were better than some in the TOC and between each game they were raked, chalked, and most times watered! Great job by the grounds crew!!

The umpires were consistent and it was great to have 2 for all the bracket games. We were handed our rewards after the Champ game as is always done. I can only think that something else was going on with the Director for them not to be done.

Since I am from Fresno and played both 65s & 60s, I hope the Cal Cup returns next year. I think most of the teams enjoyed playing here!
