Florida Blitz 1st baseman passes.
I received this email from a teammate of Bruce Terrell:
Dave Alarcon
Catcher #13

"Bruce Terrell, our first baseman, passed away last Thursday, Dec 22, from a massive stroke. It came as a shock to all of us. He and I had talked recently about
his new role with the team as "General Manager/Player" for next season and how much
he was looking forward to it. He made a point to talk with each of us recently, which makes this much harder to comprehend.

Bruce had a great passion not only for softball, but life itself. He loved a good beer, a good meal and would strike up a conversation with anyone. He
had a way of making everyone feel like they were a part of something. If there ever was a
person who lived life his way and got the most out of each day, it was Bruce.

Personally, I will miss our discussions on music trivia, the Marlins, softball, politics and anything else going on. He had what I call a sarcastic wit and
I dearly loved it. No one was spared when he would go off on one of his rants. It will not be the same when we take the field and I look down to first base and won't see number 16 yelling about something. I speak for our entire team when I say he will be greatly missed not just as a player but as a friend.

An Irish Wake is going to be held @ the Titanic Brewing Co.Thursday
12/29/05 from 6PM to 9PM. The location is 5813 Ponce de Leon Blvd. Coral Gables. This is
located just west of the Univ. of Miami Baseball Field. We are gathering to celebrate
our friend's LIFE as he would have wanted us to."

I played against Bruce Terrell in two tournaments, the last one in Ft. Meyers. He seemed like an "upbeat" type of fellow, always joining in a conversation. I wish I had known him better. I know his friends and family will miss him.

He was the guy who always "stuck out" on this team and also any team he played on.He was a BIG guy;not fat just big. He was a slick fielder at first and hit some nasty shots my way.
He had a sarcastic type infectuous humor with him and will be sorely missed. He seemed to be another of those 'nice guys' we play aginst in this game.
I think he played at one time for Anglers Super Store didn't he?
Maybe just last year.
