News flash,NEW SENIOR LEAGUE to start
I dont like any of these SPECIAL rules in senior softball so Im thinking about starting my own ass. These are my rules.Wood bats,no corking.RIF softballs,no DHs and absolutely no courteousy runners .Also the mat must go so the umpire can determine where the ball crosses your body but the strike zone is between the knees and your belt.Arch is 3 to 20 ft.There will be no double bag at first and only one plate. You wont have to slide ,it will be OK to contact catcher to dislodge ball if possible.Im thinking about going with a 4 ball, 4 strike count so you can get another, better pitch to hit.Absolutely no run limits per inning and NO run rule or that crazy TIME limit. If it takes 2-3 hours to play a game ,so be it.It shouldnt make the next team waiting to plat too mad.SO all being said,if you are interest in playing in MY league, please sign up below.THANKS,LAST WORD

OOOPS,forgot the most important thing, there is only one division and one age group, just like it was when we were YOUNGER,no SPECIAL treatment for ANYONE so if your still not a five tool player you mite not want to sign up.LAST WORD

I'm in-full contact softball-yeah! Can we get a National Tournament in every city, too? The bigger the city, the larger ring you HAVE to buy.Let's also go back to nine defensive players.
I'm still a 5 tool player, wrenched back, hammer toe, club foot, level head, and eye socket set. Peanut put me up to this!!! Thanks Jeff Dunham!

Maybe make it a 5 on 5 league less chance for complaints. E4\E6, I take it you haven't talked to the latter lately. Both are excellent players.
Have a Great 2012.

Looks like our new league is off to a great start.Im sure Im leaving out some rules so if anyone has imput feel free to do so, even if you dont play, you can help us out.Thinking about having a state tourney for every state and then just one big NATIONAL tourny.Oh,did I mention that absolutely NO protective gear may be worn at anytime,no need for such manly items. Keep those signups coming.

Drop the bordering states rule so you can build a powerhouse that crushes everybody.Award first place only and do not recognize non winners.

good idea.So if were going to give every state a tourney we need to get started first week in Jan. so all 50 can have one and have our ONE NATIONAL Christmas week of 012.So do we go to Alabama or Alaska first.Keep those good ideas coming and we will get SSUSA straightened out in a hurry.NEXT

Geez, I allmost forgot the most important thing. Since I am going to be playing every weekend on the tour, were going to need a DIRECTOR, someone that doesnt want to play but doesnt mind running rhe show.So I think we should take nominations for the job.Anyone have any ideas on who would be good at that job.Cant pay very much because my entry fees will be less than $100.00 a team, you know like it used to be back in the good ole days.Board is now open for nominations.NEXT

Is there any chance that we could use a 16" ball? That way we wouldn't have to use gloves and we could lower the cost of playing ball.

16" balls?? Don't they turn to 'mush' when the temperature gets over 82.7 degrees? I don't know-maddog-how much compression does a 16" ball lose per degree of temperature? There's something else about the 16" ball, but I just can't remember.

webbie the 16" ball holds up pretty good, during testing of said ball by MD laboratories,we froze it,heated it,and even hit it some, with no changing of properties of said ball.i think it would be great to use,as we would need less field to cover, and like hombre says ,no need for a glove as it stays soft for use.did find it was a tad hard to throw any distance but we could roll it like a bowling ball very easy.

what do ya think TG,could this be our ball as it does come from way back in time.....

5,only if you have your own ball retriever,or pay the TD extra to go get them(as you see i have applied to be a director),lets say $5 a ball.............oh so as not to delay the game you must have at least 10 back-up balls,i'm a tad slow.........

Gee, I am still out of date, and my wife has been trying to update my clothes since we met 8 yrs ago. :-) Tall white socks like 'they used to be'-you are right-I have worn those since the 70's, but with reason. With my full knee brace it is very uncomfortable to wear pants either over or under the brace and I still dive and slide enough that the tall socks provide some measure of protection to my legs. So I hope they are legal in your league.

Dont forget the bike shorts MUST have the built in diaper (padding) look, may work well for those sliders.

(I have been biking in many forms over the past 30+ years and never had or seen bike shorts with back pockets. Shirts come with or without long sleeves.)

If not polyester shirts, you can wear a t-shirt but the number has to be in magic marker...no wife beater t-shirts aloud.

Gee, I still wear my Bike shorts with back pocket, too. They must be 30 yrs old. Maybe my wife is right-it is time to update. tg69-you saw me, you know I'm not kidding. E4/E6- Bike was the brand---not a style for bicycling. But if you bicycle a lot, you learn REAL quickly what the padding is for!!! :-)
Wool??? Hilarious! Especially in Phoenix.

I do have a few pair of Biking Bike shorts, but none have a pocket, front or rear.
Never could get used to the diaper pad, so I switched to Hind brand.
I do however use the Bike Brand compression shorts.
