birdie sorry to hear ya'll lost. It was pretty cold and windy. It was 34 degrees when we started at 8 and that's
much to cold for a cajun. Sure thought ya'll was going
to win it. Made my weekend meeting Mr. Manassas and yourself.
Mr. Manassas is pretty good at pitching. First time I ever
missed a ball and what a knuckle ball. He's one of the best
I ever faced. Birdie your at lease a Major+ first basement.
I enjoyed talking to all the teams. It just wasn't our
weekend.

Is the TOC actually worth having? Out of 19 TOC qualifying tourneys only 1/3 to 1/4 of the teams that qualify may go. So what's the point of having a TOC in which most of the Champions are staying home. Maybe, it's the location?

Or it could be the time of year, and that it is so long after the season for most of the nation has long ended.

The location is fine - it's the time of year. We attended last year and the weather was cold and dreary. I thought this year might be different when I saw the high-70s forecast for Friday. But then the cold front came in yesterday and I'm glad we did not go this year. As many have said, the best time for this tournament would be in November of the year in which a team qualifies. Maybe the powers-that-be will re-evaluate the timeframe once this contract expires. We can only hope...

Lefty, Mr. Manassas is not a bad hitter either! He consistently hits for a very high average year-in and year-out.

Kinnico , from Michigan & Indiana wins the 55 Major. They are a fine team, veteran players doing it together....Hats off to SSUSA for putting together an indoor feast , ran and orchestrated like a "Hollywood Production"......Yes , again the weather became a factor. It was cold every morning & Sunday morning was no exception,33 degrees with a 40 mph wind. It really takes a lot of the fun out of it when the weather misbehaves like that.Spectators wrapped in blankets were abundant.....Isn't the month of February considered as the coldest month of the year no matter where you are in the USA ?....3 years in a row , of cold weather , should deem worthy of strong consideration for changing the dates of the TOC to an earlier date....Teams scramble all season long to qualify & dont go. I believe they must be looking at their "Farmers Almanac" & trusting its long term outlook of the forecast....And last but not least , another "Major" senior softball tournament with no electronic scoreboards....And I do mean another.

Lefty, Thanks for the complement. I played only one game at first base and did OK except for the ball that you hit between my legs. I did not even have time to get my glove down . My back went out before the second game and too many pain pills effected my performance after that. I did compete to the best of my ability. I need to get healthy. Enjoyed meeting you and wild bunch and the rest of your team great guys and competitors. Thanks Harry

Joe, I may get to run into you this year after all...I'm playing 60 Major with the Texas Makulis after venturing up to the "big boys" in the 65s last year. I will be playing some 65 M+ later in the year with the Omen team out of CA. Now, are you playing with this year...I've heard the TOC was the Wild Bunch's swan song?

That would be Floyd from Grand Rapids...Yes , he does not use a senior bat. I believe he uses a "mayhem". And he has been idle for 5 months....
