I am sure Zman will post that his Empty Box problem has been handled. Filed claim with UPS and refunded within 5 minutes of hearing of the missing contents in the box. If anyone can help Zman with an Ultra II 28, with ASA stamps, please inform him.

I have always tried to be present when I got a delivery. Open it with them there. Hard to dispute that.
Curveball is correct on tubes and even triangles, you really need to tape them up.

i talked to shelby , he took care of it , it wasnt him . Im sure it was some body from UPS that stole the bat , Shelby is GTG in my book he tooh care of the situation right of way . i will deal with him again . I deal over 100 bats a yr , i use a triangle box stuff with newspaper so theres no rattle , and duct tape the crap out of it . Ive already had a bat got stolen form the post office too . Its bad when you cant trust the shipping companies.

will tell you neck, that we have a long standing joke about UPS on the softballfans board, about UPS having softball teams without having to buy bats...they loose a lot of bats, yes the sender sometimes doesn't pack it good enough, but just saying....

Most thefts happen at airports( where USPS & others do not have control) or at the customers door. I worked for USPS. You could not walk out of a mail processing facility with a bat. They have guards, scannners, and concealed windows where postal inspectors can watch the floor.

However, there have been numerous instances where airport employees have been caught doing this. Often by postal inspectors.

If a letter carrier or anyone receives a package without contents or damaged they are supposed to notify their supervisor. The supervisor will mark it received without contents or damaged. It will still be delivered so the customer can then make a claim or initiate a search. The post office doesn't know what was supposed to be in the box without doing this.

Anyone who has this occur on their route will be watched by postal inspectors. Either to catch an employee or to see if someone in the area is stealing packages. Actually, you are not supposed to leave a package if the person isn't home but many do because cutomers don't want the hassle of going to the post office.

I received a empty box once. The Fed-ex driver said he got the box that way but when he called back to the loading dock, they had a bat they found. By description it was my bat. I went and picked it up that afternoon and was just plain happy to get it. The sender never taped the ends shut !
I have received bats 3 times where the bat just plain fell out of the box or tube cuz the sender didn't tape it properly.

Dissapearing bat located! The bat was found at a UPS terminal and luckily I had the serial number photoed and could identify the bat.

Still wonder how the bat came out of the box. Package was sealed with brown tape and it had clear tape over the brown tape on the box when delivered. I ship many bats I do know how to tape a box. I am sure it was just an accident.

Doesn't matter now, the bat is on the way back to Florida, Zman refunded, and the bat will find another happy owner.

Zman said he has located another bat, more money though. I must have sold my bat too cheap.
