Hence the need to combine divisions and/or expand age groups at the younger levels.

Just curious. How many teams did you turn down?

Your decision not to play has no doubt disappointed a lot of women, they dig the long ball you know.

thats a possibility but quit complaining about brackets when you dont even go just sit home & critize when the tournement people are doing there best its up to us teams to go to the tourneys & show our support motown & Kinnco went to chattanogga last year in the 55 major division & learned when we got there that we were the only two 55major teams there we could have meet in toledo & played & saved our selves a lot of money but we had no control over that.Crump didnt like it I didnt like it but it was what it was.I guess we could talk to other teams & see who's going where & the go when there's more teams or SSUSA could have us put the money up a month or two earlier butthats not fair to the sponcer's because you never know who can go ,but I do believe the game want get better until the players make it better.

Neck10 with all due respect when Gary19 writes about the need to combine divisions and/or expand age groups at the younger level your story about only 2 teams in your bracket at Chattanooga validates his point.
That being said your point is valid on trying to find out ahead of time who's going to a said tourney you might be looking to play in. This board does help in some regard to that. Those who run tourneys usually post how many are entered. I fully believe it's worth a shot to try and combine divisions-especially major plus and major plus expanding the age brackets maybe 3 years. Some of these 2 or 3 team tournaments might stand a chance to increase to 6 or 7 teams. jmho

If you combine the major and major plus, which rule of play would apply ? will we go back to the 5 run and 5 homerun? For imformation purpose only, the 2 and 4 team tournament is not new . in the 80 , that all they had in the asa super major,

good point by both you guys motown & kinnco both went to phoenix last year short handed but we both went had a good time & won some ball games.the major plaus division has more money so it will have better players salsa & oki have a lot better budget than most & they go to a lot of tourney's but if they want lots of teams they will have to go west or florida for the tourney's more teams & they dont have to travel as far nobody's going to come to detroit 2 or 3 times a year.now florida in march at least you can be asured thAT THERE Wwont be any snow.in florida they play a good tourney once a month & dont have to travel too much.

Crump that's a fair question and one that would definitely merit discussion if the divisions were ever to be combined. I might split the difference in home runs. In major plus it's 12, in major I think it's 7? Perhaps go 9 with one up then a single?

After playing senior ball for 10yrs and umpiring for 4........I agree that the major/major+ should be combined, particularly since the new rules state HR's over the limit will Not be outs. I agree with stick, split the difference.......nobody in any division wants to go to tournaments with only 2 or 3 in their division.....all the other divisions seem to have pretty good. In Indy this year "if they would combine" there would be 4 in the 50's and 7 in the 55's (they could even combine those age groups with the equalizer and have a nice 11 team bracket) ......JMHO "Keep on Playin"

I see the brackets are up for the Indy tournament. They make a mistake and put Friday for the first round tournament games and Saturday for the final round.

I would much rather have had one 6 team tournament instead of two 3 team tournaments. I thought they would combine the 2 55 major plus and the 1 major plus team all together with the 50 major.

The Brickyard Invitational runs over two days per session, depending upon age group ...

Men's 65's and 70's (8 teams) play Friday and Saturday.
Men's 50's, 55's and 60's (32 teams) play Saturday and Sunday.

• All known Late(r) Start Requests were met to accommodate the teams requesting them.

• The weekend schedule is extremely full, with only one open game slot across all six fields, at 9:00 PM in Field #5. Sunday has no open game slots.

• The 50-Major+, 50-Major and 55-Major+ are combined for mixed round robin seeding games before splitting into separate ratings-based Double Elimination Brackets. This is consistent with a general, and often stated, preference by Major+ teams to play the bracket portion within their own rating classification. We believe this is based on their apparent desire to play with higher Home Run and runs per inning limits and not have to 'play down' to the Major Division rule set.

I need to clarify my post. Staff, you have the 50 brackets showing as playing Friday & Saturday rather than Saturday & Sunday. The seeding schedule is correct, just the brackets incorrect.

I agree with cal50. Who wants to travel with all the expense of hotels & food to play in a 3 team tourny, its rediculous. I've played 50 major & 50 major plus... not that much diff, especially now with 50 major getting 7 hrs& 1 up. SSUSA wake up. we could stay home & play in a 15-20 team NSA D Tourny, which we can compete very well in for ALOT LESS MONEY. I'm betting the Major + guys would also rather play in a 6 or 7 team than a stupid 3 team tourny IJS. SSUSA wake up ur gonna lose teams...combine em & make it 9 hrs. get out & watch the games major+ rarely hits their limit!

joe56, they made a change on the home run rule and allowed the home team to go one up in the bottom of the 7th if it doesn't win the game. The home run rule and 3 team tournament when they could have made it 6 are enough to make me vote to not play in anymore SSUSA tournaments.

Question for SSUSA Staff:
It is noted on the schedule that
"Schedule Subject to Change at Discretion of Tournament and Field Directors"

Is it possible that our first game on Saturday (noon, 55AAA division) will be unexpectedly moved to an earlier time slot?

Some of our players will be driving down from Chicago Saturday morning and might be late for that first game if it's moved up without advance notice.

Marty - That "caveat" is there to accommodate occasional changes which are almost exclusively dictated by adverse weather issues. Your guys should be fine.
