Dawg, you may want to reconsider your price. Most retailers are out of stock and the prices of U2's are climbing. I sold one that was NIW on eBay for $280 plus $15 shipping.

I wish I hadn't broken 6 of them. Could have paid for all my traveling expenses. JW, one of my teammates has broken probably 9 of them. Why do I keep buying them? ahh hahaha

GT, I found that the key to extending the life of any bat is hitting it a limited amount in bp, like 5 or 6 swings, and in games. Two or three years ago I was hitting my bats about 120 times a week and was replacing them about twice a year. Now I use them only in games and a few swings in bp. I have a Rocket Tech that I use in bp now. Just bought a Mayhem 98 and am curious to seel how it holds up.

Bruce, good info. I finally learned(I'm a senior citizen so it takes a while) not to use it in bp and never with wet balls. Be interested to hear how your bp bats do. I use the Combat(blue) and it seems to hold up well. Good info and good reason we have this site. Happy 4th

Guys...I have been taping the barrel of my UII, for batting practice, with a clear packing tape. Seems to work.. and then before the game, all i have to do is unwrap, and ready to hit. Sound like something from Dear Heloise !!

Good idea Cat. Two or three years ago I bought a bat sleave from Softball Sales, I think. You slip it over the barrell when you hit bp. Maybe I should go back to that. I can't help believe that it adds some weight to the end of the bat. Maybe moving up on the handle would counter act that.

I also thought about the sleeve however, I felt that any type of weight increase or movement of your hands on the handle would defeat the purpose of practicing with a bat that you want to use in the game. Just my opinion.

Jcharles,
i have a brand new one time used Ultra ll 27oz. bought it in Reno in June. only used in that tournament. i paid $180 for it. it's yours for $100. i just bought a 28oz. i was in a hitting slump and thought the lighter weight would help me. I was wrong. My mistake could be your good fortune. let me know.

In 2003 at the Southeast GT in Savannah I hit one that was measured 419'. I haven't hit one that far since then.
The difference to me is that in 2003 the ball was a 47/525 Clincher. Now all that we hit are 44/375's.
To me the bats are about the same.
