Right now you've produced a foul vapor of a reputation among players,unkept production promises, funds paid without goods provided for over a year, this whole thing has become legendary as the biggest joke on message board, and trust me from one brother to another...."there's no Honor to Anyone in that". That being said, we fully intend to honor orders for bats that were never sent out by Gates or for replacements bats that should have gone out from Gates Sports Company, even though God's Sports Company itself has never seen a penny from those sales. Understand that God's Sports Company is not just a name change from Gates. It is new ownership, new production, new staff, and new direction. Southernson, If you are one of the ones who was mistreated by Gates with your previous bat order, please contact me directly. | July 17, 2012 HJ Men's 70 481 posts | The 1 thing that unifies the GOP is the desire to make the Pres. a 1-term pres. For many it is an honest difference in policy. That said, it is clear to anyone who listens that many who speak against the Pres. are racists. I hear it in my own family, I hear it socially and I hear it from teammates. It is a fact of life and widespread. There simply is a part of our society which cannot deal with the fact that their way of life is changing. 30 years from now we will not be a predominantly white country and that is a fact. Many see change with gay marriage which they don't like, but ask the kids, they don't care. Calling someone a racist should not be done lightly and in my opinion was inappropriate here. All groups, and not just black groups, have their own organizations which promulgate their issues. Almost all of us are or came from immigrants and all immigrant groups had societies to help the newest immigrants. To make the generalization that the black organizations did little or nothing to promote unification is factually inaccurate. W/o their efforts lunch counters would still be separate and there would be white only water fountains and we would have separate but "equal" schools. Many whites joined the battle for civil rights and it is praiseworthy. Be careful with labels and be careful with generalizations. |
| July 17, 2012 jrhunch 113 posts | some of the players on the pace55's team purchased the original bat made in china and also ordered the new bat from bill gates.you know the rest of the story.my team is not worried about our situation.we have played against steve many times and find him to be an honorable man.the east coast rep is also a class act.these 2 men are telling us they will make good on the shady dealings of bill gates.this is good enough for me and my teammates.i realize that they dont have to make good on this legally.i also know that wouldnt be good for a new business.this hasnt been conveyed to me by them they have consistantly stood by their product.i realize they havent produced it yet but i hope when it is finished it will turnout great.there is talk on this site about politicians who continually rob us that the majority keeps voting for and keeps forgiving but an honest man who is trying to do something positive is put down.i am not saying that complaints are not valid all i am saying is what is wrong with giving the company more time to get things right.what do we have to lose they already have our money.keep hitting and stay safe jr#11 pace |

When and how will your company announce it is taking new orders. What is the expected price range. When and how can the bat be demonstrated. Has the bat been approved for senior play yet. Answering these questions will help renew credibility here. I respect your efforts and faith. Hopefully others will also, if you can honestly and simply give your best efforts to answer it will be appreciated. Good luck to you and all involved. |

We are currently adding to our rep force to try and cover the nation as completely as possible. We have not set a final MSRP but we will be accurately priced for the quality of the bat and the 1-year warranty that will be in place. Our rep force will have bats in hand to be able to show and demo, and as our rep force grows so will our demo coverage. You can also expect to see GSC representation at most of the large Regional and National Tournaments. In a meeting this morning with our CEO Steve McKinlay, he confirmed with me that our bats already have the necessary approval to go right into senior league and tournament play. If you or anyone else on the message board would like to be alerted when the bat is released, please send me a email with your direct contact info, and I will contact you when they are ready to ship. I’m assuming they bought the debt-it doesn’t go away just because they “say” they are not responsible. Also I was wondering if you could share Steve MacKinlay’s previous experience as a ”CEO” as well as any previous experience he has in manufacturing bats, or sporting goods, or anything for that matter. |

Nothing has ever that I am aware of come to pass that has been stated, dates, BP, sessions etc, Smoke and mirrors. But MAYBE. Yea, down the road, err; month, year, decade... Still think it's a painted Decker Jump Bat. Same bat contour. All that was needed was white paint and a decal set. No one knows if it actually exists or I's think at least one person would have said they actually hit with it or saw the inside of one. I guess that is their definition of integrity through all this. |

| July 18, 2012 donll 68 posts | 400, Miken and Combat already had bats on the market when I started playing Senior Softball so there was no need to question them as to when they would get their bat out or if they could produce one. Reebok is a multi-million/billion? dollar company. They obviously have experience in the manufacturing of sporting goods equipment. And, they have a bat out. Oh, and none of them to my knowledge have taken money from ball players and not delivered the goods. So perhaps if Chip would share the answers to the previously asked questions people would have a better idea about the feasibility of this bat ever being produced them ever getting made whole. |

Or better yet purchased a company from someone who already has clients. I personally purchased 3 of the bats. I think Steve’s a stand up guy!I Just played ball with him this past weekend! He has told me numerous times, when the bats are released (We will be pleased) and that I along with everyone else that was done wrong bye MR. Gates and the Gate’s Bat Company would be taken care of! Why does one have to have prior experience running a company? To be CEO of a new company! Maybe Steve just has a lot of money and he decided to buy a Bat manufacturing company? Guys relax, play some softball. I think when released and it will be released, the bat will perform just as well, if not better then our currents bats that we all currently have in our bags! | July 18, 2012 Al33 Men's 55 183 posts | Steve has been trying to straighten out a huge mess that was left to him. Many people know Steve from the softball diamond. The company has told us that they will make good on any previous sales. They are in no hurry to introduce an inferior product to the public and want to make sure it's ready and up to their expectations. I and my team have the utmost confidence that they will make good on their promises. What they are promising is honorable as they don't have to do what they are saying legallly. Cleaning up someone else's mess isn't as easy as one might think. I'm quite sure if they didn't think they had something good, they would've dropped out long ago. Just the fact they are still at and now communicating should say to the naysayers, give them a chance to complete the project. I and my team have been waiting patiently just like everyone else and am excited to see the final product with a one year warranty. I'm sure the big boys (Miken, Reebok, etc) can't wait either. You all just might be surprised at the end product. The design is totally different than anything on the market. Good Luck GSC. |
| July 18, 2012 HJ Men's 70 481 posts | I have no personal stake in a GSC bat. From what I read the co. seems to be saying they are close to releasing the bat. If that is true, and it may be, I am wondering why none of the posters here have been asked to try out the bat. I would think that before they went into production, they would have asked knowledgeable SB players to try it out and comment. Just today a combat seller commented that he is trying out a new proposed bat. If the GSC bat were to have a 1-year warranty, then it would be insanity to release it before big hitters tested it with, say, 1500 to 2000 hits. I hope I am wrong and all of this has been done or is in the process of being done. |

If I'm the company and someone ask me when is the bat going to be out.. I would say when I expect to! If I have hoops to jump through then I would say I have a few more hoops to jump through... you had two years to come up with a price of the bat.. Then to name the company after God is a bit comical at this point. My team was testing out the Demarini One this year, early on... We have a Factory Rep on our team.. So they ask us to hit it to see what we thought.. Last year we had three of their Blue SSbats and we broke them in 50 75 100 swings.. So we told them what we think! Promising on performance and not good at all on lasting!!! That bat didn't make it. Now the new one is lasting 300 plus swings and hitting it out there with the Reebok and is out performing what I had seen with the old blue one. |

They were with the Gate’s bat company and Mr. Gates was the one who made all the promises, not Steve! I think Steve saw all of us getting screwed and he step in Fired Mr. Gates, and has as far as I know been real upfront as to the progress of his new company and the bat being released! If the man wants to name his company after GOD, what’s wrong with that? I think its great marketing!! The funny thing about all the guys who are complaining is that they DON”T even has a vested interest in the Bat…. Swing? the guys who are running this company, have played the game, I know Steve is a good hitter…They may decide that the bat is READY bye doing their own BP testing! Not by giving us samples for our review! |

I hope it works out for all of them and their customers! I have been watching this for a while now and it's comical on how the info is getting out to it's customers. IMO Knowing how Gates kind of shafted everyone who bought these bats sight unseen, I would try to give as much info as posible to squelch the pissed off guys that invested in the Gates company... Kudos to GSC if they make good on their promise to honor the Gates company's sales! |

You confused two posts. donll made his post questioning the CEO's resume'. taits post was the one that I questioned by stating, " How many of your posts are positive comments and opinions or just "grumpy old guy" negative statements or commentary?", because he questioned the integrity of someone I'm not quite sure he even knows. I am involved with manufacturing and understand the issues surrounding R&D, transitioning into production, engineering issues, retooling, quality control of inbound materials and outbound customer delivery and satisfaction. There is alot to be done before the highly critical senior population can be satisfied. Steve and Chip keep moving forward and working hard. I ONLY HOPE THAT YOU FOLKS THAT CHALLENGE CREDIBILITY AND A PERSON'S ABILITY WILL BE THE FIRST ONES BACK TO POST WHEN THE PRODUCT HITS THE MARKET!! DBAX: Point of Clarification - 1 CEO not plural. | July 19, 2012 CAPT D5 120 posts | Most everyone is all for the GSC. Unfortunately there have been stated availability dates the have repeatedly come and gone with the present management. If credibility is questioned, there has been cause. Unfortunately some have vented frustrations into insulating comments. Most of us understand business complications. Clear honest communication is all that most request. Its only a bat but evidently there is great interest, which doesn't make us dumb. This is great promotion overall, keeping attention on a coming product. When the product comes thru we who break bats often will be happy if the bat is reasonably priced. If the bat has a better sweet spot more will be happy. I don't personally think GOD needs a sport company, but nothing wrong with giving respect to ones faith. Perhaps we are all more than reason alone would suggest. |

Steve purchased Melee from me early on to evidently test comparisons, etc. so I have had conversation with him. I have been impressed with his forthrightness and I have no doubt regarding his ethic, moral and religious standing. I recently visited the factory and held a prototype of their bat in my hands. I was again impressed with the young engineer who is charged with building the bats. His desire to achieve quality and his reasoning to go slow until reaching same was clear to me. It is easy in this forum to press the computer keys and attack others. It is my personal opinion at this junction to give this company the benefit of the doubt and continue to be patient with them. In the same breath, it may be prudent for some of the reps to keep silent for a time as some of the consumer public perhaps feels they have been abused or let down. Prototype and go slowly implies to me that as of recent visit by surf, the prototype was still being worked on. I assume that sales won't commence until there is a reasonable stockpile. My guess is these bats at best won't be available until very late summer or early fall is all goes well. I have no personal interest or axe to grind. |

The last communicated release date was late August. If other than first hand factory supervision is involved misinformation is no surprise. At this point this is like a horse race. The building appears to be like a Shopping Mall, Shopping Center or some sort of retail or office building. The building does not appear to be set up for any type of manufacturing. Also surf88 claims to have been at the factory but didn't indicate he was at that location. If the address of the factory is public knowledge, why didn't surf88 just say so? |

He indicated he wanted to help limit what he thought was unfair treatment. He also made clear as a rep for another bat company he should say nothing else. He seems to understand how upset so many are over the history of this bat. I share much of the frustration, having waited for over a year now before buying a needed new senior bat. One promised release date after another missed. The company may benefit from the continuing attention. Just give us acurate updates and facts. If you don't know for sure about something, GSC, just say so. It's no sin to not know. An apology might help when release dates are missed, instead of just saying be patient. Most people don't like being treated like over anxious children. Just release the bat when promised. We are prospective customers, nothing else really. |

Addy listed is like a strip mall, but could be outdated as well & could also be a mail drop at the UPS Store shown on Google maps. HJ, of late occurrence or not long past, for recent. I too doubt only one prototype was made. AfterÊall there was supposed to be a BP session scheduled in PHX for players to see the bat. Didn't happen as far as known on here. Since you sell Reebok bats, I would think you would have a pretty good idea of the weight. Did the bat feel like the Reebok end load or balanced? How would you compare it to the Reebok in feel? Did the prototype have the same dimensions as the Reebok? I can't figure out how GSC could make a "solid core" bat that has the same dimensions as the Reebok, and still be the same weight as a "hollow" Reebok. surf, with all your bat knowledge and having actually handled the bat, you can shed some light on the above questions. |

The simple fact is many people in good faith paid for something they have not received in a timely manner and they are not happy. The simple fact is that you would not give more money to this company at this time for a bat. I hope everyone gets their bats and they perform well. | Aug. 6, 2012 pitcher55 Men's 55 130 posts | yes, i ordered and paid for a veteran bat in october of '09. it was shipped to me in january '10. it was made in china, a total dud. i hit 2 buckets off a tee, and sent it back. i was dealing with the previous owner,who told me when theygot the new factory up and running in south carolina, he would send me one of those.about 2 years went by,then steve bought the company. i was wrong on a previous post, i did not email him, i left steve a phone msg. twice around may and june.each time,he phoned me the next day.some things he shared with me,i have not, nor will i repeat. it is his business if he feels the need to share with anyone else. i will only say, that the production end need some unforseen work. wallmart has a store in my town,and plans on building a super wallmart across the street. it was projected to open dec.'10. issues kept coming up,like drainage,rebuilding the intersection and so on.they will build it i'm sure,but things unforseen happen, even in our lives. steve is not to blame for bats ordered 2 or 3 years ago, he hasn't owned the company that long. |

I have no dog in this hunt now but the fact is our association was involved as a potential (potential is the operative word) dealer and or regional sales position with GSA bats from the very beginning three years ago this October. As time went on Bill confided to me that he was in need of capitol or a money partner. I personally was the one that introduced Steve McKinley to Bill Gately. I'd have to go back to some old emails but that union with Bill and Steve took place at least two years ago. After that I was only getting information from Bill. Steve was involved in manufacturing and Bill was in sales and R&D. I was only interested in the sales of the product. If anyone wants to discuss this with me I will be glad to anytime but not here. I bought the original white Veteran shortly after it came out, then took Gately up on his $99 offer for the 2011 GBA. I paid for that bat in September 2010 and have yet to receive that or the new Core bat Steve said would be ready in May of this year. I've talked to Steve a few times on the phone and he sounds like a stand-up guy with a fairly detailed story about production delays caused by difficulty in hiring/keeping employees, but with so many people looking for jobs these days that story sounds a little thin. Even thinner is the explanation that the thousands of bats he says have already been ordered are delaying the delivery of bats to everyone. Based on the skepticism of Senior players in this forum, I find it hard to believe more than a handful (if any) would place an order without seeing an actual bat first (not just pictures in a web site). If they really are going to produce and sell bats, you'd think they would be communicating regularly with concrete details and realistic expectations. This is no way to do business. Despite naming the venture God's Sports Company (which I find a bit presumptuous) I have strong doubts this on the level. I just can't figure out why Steve would bother keeping up the ruse for so long. |

It took a long time and it was interesting to see the many different positions posted throughout the thread. I was contacted a year and a half ago by Bill Gates. He shared a great deal of excitement about his new bat. I listened to his presentation. I invited him to visit our hitting tent at Senior Worlds in Phoenix last year. He promised to stop by but did not. Later, he contacted me in an attempt to find investors for the company knowing I was in real estate. Last fall, he ordered one of our Reebok bats. It was charged to Steve McKinlay. Some time later, Steve contacted me to share that Bill was no longer a part of the company. He wanted to introduce himself. We have had good conversations, mostly about faith. Steve has helped me to cope with my prostate cancer battle. I believe Steve McKinlay is a man of faith. I believe all the posts in the world will not change that. Steve purchased 3 bats from me. Two of those bats were shipped in good faith prior to payment but payment WAS made.
