FasTs, do you know of anyone that will be 65 in 2013 looking for a good AA team? We just won the Western Nationals in Colorado. If so, let me know. 303-437-5340.
We could use as many as 3 players because we have players moving to the 70 age group after Vegas. Thank you.

There were only 2 AA teams there, one from TX and another from CO. Which were you on?

Scrap Iron/Phiten I have played against in Reno. I know Mike M. & have played with Ed S. also. Didn't get chance to see your team there we were at opposite parks. Was with Animals 65.
Sorry to read about Steve.

Good luck on your search for the players.

Thanks Taits. I know Mike well, super guy! We played Phiten in the pool play and lost to them by 1 run in 8 innings. We had a 8 run lead and couldn't hold them. Our team has been hit hard by injuries this year. One player with a broken neck, probably will never play again, another with a very bad leg injury, although will be back for Vegas, another with complete knee replacement, one playing now with a torn rotator cuff, two others with injuries that couldn't play. We beat El Paso 911's best of 3, 36-25 in 8 innings, lost 24-25, and then won in the final 20-15. They beat us in Las Vegas finals a couple of years ago, so we returned the favor.
All of this is pretty trivial when I think of Steve. There isn't a nicer man, and he loved softball.

Hope that guy doesn't give up on playing. I had a broken neck and back sometime between 78 and 84. MC accident in 78 & a car accident where I was paralyzed for a short time in 84. I play ball in pain but there is life as it were. Just be careful. My back is my worst enemy, my neck is pretty good now. Think the places were L 3\4 and C3. But how bad or broken, I do now, But they sure show up on x-rays and the MRI's i've had.
Have had or need the others mentioned too. But I still manage to get to at least 1st base anyway. lol
Sand bars and rocks. I Know what those are. Hit a sand bar on a tube once at about 40 mph. I could barely walk for a week. Hit some rocks w\ my boat. Learned to mark where both types were at different water levels very fast.
Fast boats and fast cars... Aah to by young, and nuts.
Hope Steve recovers, but it's a LONG ASS PROCESS, trust me.

I hear you, Taits. Steve is gravely ill as I write this. I have to give you kuddos for continuing to play, especilly if you still have pain.
