Please pray for Steve Simmons
Steve Simmons from Minnesota, Prize Company, was critically injured Thursday in a boating accident. He was given CPR for 45 minutes and revivied. Steven was vacationing with his grandchildren and family back in Rhode Island when the accident occured. He was thrown from the boat when it hit a sandbar and was taken to a hospital in Providence, R.I. He has had a heart attack and a bone hit the spinal cord in his neck was broken. He is in the intensive care ward at this time. The good news is that he is responsive and they think there is no brain injury. I do not have any other details at this time. He needs our prayers, so please pray for him and his family. Anyone that knows Steve knows he is a fighter, and one of the nicest players and best hitters in senior softball. I will give more details as they come available. Steve is a national director with SSUSA.

In my haste to write this, I wanted to say that Steve plays for Prize Company out of Mn. My name is DuWayne Pillard and I have known Steven since 1972. He stayed at my house during the Western Nationals that was just played in Aurora, Co. this past weekend. Many of you know Steve and I know that you would want to know this.

Unbelievable! I just saw Steve a few days ago in Aurora!
My fervent prayers are with the Simmons family during this terrible time and I pray that the Great Physician touch Steve and bring him back healthy to his loved ones and friends.

That's awful! An enjoyable vacation with grandchildren turns into such a tragedy. Glad to hear Steve is responsive and there may not be any brain damage. Northern Virginia Force sends their prayers out to Steve and his family for a full and speedy recovery.

Steve's friends in Indiana send along their prayers for his recovery. With or without softball, his grandchildren should have the opportunity to continue to enjoy his companionship.

Steve was my partner in the 2004 55+ SPA Home Run Derby. Although he didn't hit any he still received a first place award. What a great guy! Wishing him the best and giving him our prayers.

I have had the pleasure to come to know Steve the last 3 years in helping him in the business side of SSUSA. I found him to be honest, dedicated to senior softball, easy to work with, a positive and humble individual. A great guy to hang out with!! I will keep Steve in my prayers for a full and speedy recovery.
