Oct. 8, 2012 Mario Men's 50 451 posts | How many players do you hit in worlds? Just wondering of all the championship teams that won Vegas, how many guys do you hit in the finals? I saw that Northwest Legends either hit 10 or 11. I saw Somerville hit 10, I believe that Nazzerno hit 10 or 11, and I think East Bay Oldies hit 10 or 11. Our team, OKI, hits up to 15. I think in our last game in Vegas we had it down to 13. If you would please tell me what team your with, what division and how many you hit in the finals. |

What I have noticed this year is an overwhelming number of teams who bat 14-17 in the prelims and cut it down to 10 to 12 in the championship bracket play. We played several teams that batted their best 3 or 4 hitters at the end of the order in prelims and in their regular spots in championship play. I have to wonder whether it was to get the backups more at bats/playing time or an effort to avoid not winning all the games by a big margin and getting moved up???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????. |

Then cut it down the further we go until we reach the finals depending on how competitive the tournament is. In Vegas we went down to 10 in the championship game, which was our best 10 defensive players with 3 pinch hitters ready to go in at a moments notice. If you play 13 and they all get 3 at bats then that is taking away 9 swings from your first 9 batters so that the last 3 batters get in. Unless the last 3 hitters are as good as the first 9 it doesn't make much sense. However, it takes a team to win and sometimes it is better to play more sense after all it is a "team". |

Plus the way you rotated people gave your team a chance to rest some and you were very fresh-comparatively speaking. This is NOT in any way an excuse-because you flat out beat us-but we were pretty tired out there with no rotation. Some of us went every inning in the outfield. We might have been able to compete better with a couple more players. (maybe I just need to be in better shape!!) |

That's about the time our coach tells me I am playing tailback. Like in get your tail back on the bench and keep the scorebook. Conman |

Oct. 10, 2012 crump22 Men's 50 60 posts | Mario, i think it have to do with if your Eh and Catcher is better hitter than your position player, then they got to bat, this is a hitter games, so did your eh & catcher out hit your position player in Vegas? If not then they got to set.Motown Stars 14 during prelim and 14 during the final if all is hitting at a high avg. |
