Nov. 21, 2012 boston Men's 60 355 posts | What are you thankful for? With Thanksgiving coming tomorrow, I just wanted to see how senior ballers are thankful for. I for one am thankful for a wonderful and still beautiful wife of 25 yrs. Three wonderful and great kids and three beautiful and healthy grandkids. Especially, my 2 year old grandson that just 2 yrs ago was fighting for his life being 6 weeks premature. I am also thankful for the great friends I have made when I relocated to Las Cruces from Boston. I would like to wish all you board brothers a Happy, Safe and Wonderful Thanksgiving. Nov. 21, 2012 Omar Khayyam 1357 posts | boston, what a great idea for a thread. Here are my thanks from a softball perspective. I am thankful that my relationship with Jesus infuses my every day with meaning and joy. I am thankful for a loving wife of 51 years who puts up with my affection for softball and my Saturdays and Sunday afternoons away at tournaments. I am thankful for my two wonderful children and four grandchildren, each successful in their own ways and happy in life. I am thankful for this country and its commitment to freedom and opportunity. I am thankful to live in a beautiful part of the country which allows me to play softball most days of the year. I am thankful for the health to be able to still run and jump and play as I did when I was a boy (even though I don't have the stamina I did then). I am thankful for the many friends I have made in senior softball, and my teammates through the decades who enriched my life in many ways and heightened my joy in playing. I am thankful for the many interesting posters on this board who have expanded my knowledge and given me many hours of stimulating enjoyment (and oh, how I miss einstein). And my prayer for other readers is that you will have an enriching and magnificent Thanksgiving Day, filled with as many family and friends as possible, and with the celebration of our privilege to live in this wonderful country. |

Nov. 21, 2012 d45 160 posts | I am thankful for my relationship with Christ who gives purpose and meaning out of every day. I am thankful for the health that God gives me to go out and play this wonderful game of softball. I am thankful for my two wonderful daughters that are my best friends. They are always there for me in every situation. I am thankful to my female friend that has been there for me many years and is still waiting for me. I am thankful for this great country and the freedom we have to express our diverse opinions and not be persecuted for it. I am thankful to the many wonderful brothers I have made in senior softball all across this great U.S.A. I am also thankful to SSUSA for putting on tournaments across this land and the dedicated staff that keep the organization the class act it is. I pray that each and everyone of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with blessings of just enjoying the fellowship of loved ones and friends as you break bread together. |

Nov. 22, 2012 Webbie25 Men's 70 2410 posts | We also thank the Lord every day for His sacrifice, for each other, our family, our friends, our health. There is so much to be thankful for. Also, thanks SSUSA for your hard work providing venues for us to play across this great country. Meeting so many of you on this board and, this year especially, getting to meet and compete against a lot of the great players that have shaped the game, has been a special (and sometimes humbling) experience. thanks to you all! |
