I will pray for his speedy recovery. I have coached against Barry and your team a couple of times....once in the USA National Championship game in Phoenix a few years back.....he is a very classy manager and his team took after him in the sportsmanship they always showed on the field. I wish him well.

Hey Guy's and wives: This is Candy. Barry went to see his Surgeon on the 12th (yesterday) and he went in with a walker!! He was only out of the hospital 1 1/2 days. His back pain returned mon night so I got out the walker again. We iced the area all day Tues & evening.Didn't help as well as the pain meds were not holding him. His MRI showed an area in the Sacrum on the right side inflamed and pressing on the nerve root prior to his release, but they didn't really address this when they found the Endocarditis and the type of bacteria he has.He couldn't hardly even walk with a walker and had to stop because his knees wanted to buckle from the pain. I believe this is nerve pain as some infection or inflamation is in the sacrum area.Thats prob why the pain meds are not holding him.His Surgeon said he cannot operate with him unable to walk as he is going to have to be better for recovery from heart surgery. So he told us to go the the er and they would call orders over for admit to Banner Thunderbird again. The Surgeon wants a Neuro Dr to come in  as well as a Spine specialist in addition to the Infectious Disease,Cardiologist,Heart Surgeon,Hospitalist,Hematology Dr.He almost fell @ home with the walker.and again in His room.He is going down for another MRI and CT,But they are going to have to really drug him up to do the tests as any movement causes pain, except when you touch the area? Thanks for the calls to him as well as the prayers.....Candy

Barry has been in hospital for last 5 days again and it looks like that are working on the infection that has attacked his back and heart. I understand he may have surgery on heart valves sometime in next week. Thanks to so many for calls of concern and prayers for Barry. Candy Barry's wife reports that surgery on heart valve on Fri could not be done successfully and they are trying a soft tissue valve. Thanks for your notes on my e-mail and kind thoughts. We wish him a positive recovery. Will keep updated as I hear. He is at Banner Thunderbird hospital.
