2016 TOP GUN SSUSA WINTER CLASSIC RECAP

Menifee, CA --- The 2016 Top Gun SSUSA Winter Classic was held in Menifee on January 28-31 after being postponed from its original dates of Jan. 7-10 due to inclement weather.

The tournament featured 31 teams across seven age divisions (50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75 and 80).

In the 50/55/60 Platinum Division, L.A.F. 50 (50 Major) went a perfect 3-0 to take the top spot, while in the 50/55/60 Gold Division, Kamikaze (50 AAA) also went unblemished, going 4-0 to win that division. Lights Out-60 was the winner in the 55/60 AA Division.

In the 65 Major Division, Top Gun 65 Mavericks defeated R & R 65s and SoCal Gusto in bracket play to take on the first place finish, while in the 65 AAA/AA Division, Over the Edge (65 AAA) proved worthy of its top seed by running through bracket play with a perfect 3-0 mark.

The 70/75 Platinum Division featured a tie, as Top Gun Swat (70 Major) defeated top seed Top Gun 70 (70 Major) in the championship game to force an “if” game, which was unable to be played.

Following a perfect 3-0 record in seeding play, Git-R-Done 70 (70 AA), continued its strong performance in bracket play going 3-0 again to take the top spot in the 70/75/80 Division.
