SSUSA STAFF HIGHLIGHT: DONNA MCGUIRE

March 1, 2016

Donna McGuire, a Central Regional Umpire-in-Chief (UIC) out of Missouri for Senior Softball USA, was elected chair of the 2015-2016 National Rules Committee. Donna has been involved in sports her whole life, which includes being a two-sport student-athlete at Baker University where she played softball and volleyball.

A seasoned journalist currently serving as an editor for the Kansas City Star, McGuire has authored two books, including Santa’s Secret: A Story of Hope.

McGuire is in her 16th season umpiring senior softball and currently serves on the Kansas City Metro Senior Softball Board of Directors.

McGuire got her start with SSUSA seven years ago with the addition of the Midwest Championships, where she would serve as a UIC. McGuire oversees a crew of 14-15 umpires and assigns seven senior tournaments.

McGuire has worked World Championships and has also served as an Assistant Director for the Midwest Championships and smaller qualifiers working with fellow mid-west directors Will Rodgers and Randy Rowe.
