Robert "Bob" Glick
Robert “Bob” Glick, 78, who played on the Kokopelli Eye Institute Scorpions based out of Prescott, died on March 31.
Glick enjoyed playing softball and played in several Senior Softball-USA tournaments over the years with Kokopelli. He was instrumental in initiating the Tom Tobin Memorial Softball Tournament in 1991 and serving as its director for several years. He also volunteered with the Lion’s Club and Salvation Army.
Glick grew up in Maywood, N.J. and was a graduate of Farleigh Dickinson University in 1959. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1963 and practiced in New Jersey before moving to Prescott, Ariz., in 1979 where he practiced as a CPA for 36 years.
Glick is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joan Glick; son Dave (JoAnn); daughters, Sheri “Joy” Glick, Pat Zang, Janet Pressler and Kathy Duryea (Steve); nine grandchildren, Ben (Diana), Jeremy (Echo), Alexandra and Danielle, Erin (Justin), Brad (Shannon), Kelly, Lani, Chris (Alynn); 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and sister Marilyn Scheuerman of Florida.
Raula Turnier
Raula Turnier, 68, who died on April 19 at her home in Mesquite, Nev. was well known throughout America. On Friday, May 27, in Sparks during the Rock 'N' Reno Challenge Cup, Raula's friends will hold a "memorial celebration" at Shadow Rock in her honor. It'll be at 11:00 AM on Field #2.
Raula was very active and athletic, and loved to travel and enjoy the beauties of nature. Raula always had a great love for softball and traveled throughout the United States playing as an outfielder. Participating with Senior Softball-USA, Raula played with a number of teams, including LV Neons, California Spirit 65, Fun Bunch, California Rockers and Arizona Sunsets.
Raula will be remembered for her contagious smile, her love for life, her desire to always be outgoing and active, and for making everyone around her happy. She loved people and loved to work and assist them whenever she could. She worked many years as an Administrative Clerk for Clark County in Las Vegas
Raula loved the beautiful landscape of California where she grew up and graduated from high school. She later fell in love and married her best friend, Fred on Dec. 19, 1964.
Raula is survived by her husband, Fred; three children, Shawn, Fred, and Aaron, and three grandchildren.
