Bloomfield Hills, MI - American House Senior Living Communities, in partnership with the United Shore Professional Baseball League, invites all to honor an extraordinary group of men. The Louisville Slugger Warriors, heroes who sacrificed both life and limb for our liberty, will take on the Detroit Connection, a 55 AAA team with Senior Softball USA, during the American House All Star Game at Jimmy John’s Field on Saturday, September 10 at 1p.m. This is a free event commemorating the 15th anniversary of Sept. 11 and the start of Patriot Week.

“The Louisville Slugger Warriors are a highly-decorated national softball team”, said David Van Sleet, general manager. The lineup will feature both U.S. military veterans and active duty personnel who enlisted after the 9/11 attacks. Most team members have suffered service-connected, permanent injuries. These extraordinary players are athletic and competitive, using the latest prosthetic technologies.

A news conference will be held on Friday, September 9 at 2 p.m. at the Birmingham Country Club followed by a reception. Louisville Slugger Warriors will discuss their combat experience in both Iraq and Afghanistan, focusing on the incredible trials and triumphs of life post-9/11.

“It’s an honor, on behalf of American House, to be able to invite these brave, wounded heroes to Detroit for their inaugural softball game against the Detroit Connection”, said American House Founder, Bob Gillette.

Jimmy John’s Field is located on Auburn Road adjacent to M-59 in Downtown Utica. The state of the art ballpark holds 4,500 fans and features three summer picnic areas, lawn seating, and a children’s play area with a wiffle ball field. The field’s concert quality sound system and HD LED scoreboard add major league appeal to this hometown ballpark.
