"Ev was one of the original members of Northwest Senior Softball, as we know it today, and played with the some of the best teams around and had many national and world championships to his credit.  He was a top notch third baseman, and proudly wore the uniform No. 13. He played with Ruth's, Joeseppi's, Emerald City Masters, Ballettini, and the recipient of a vast number of MVP, All-Star Team, and All Tournament Team awards.  He spoke kindly of everyone, never complained, and loved all the birds and animals."
