LVSSA AND SSUSA TO EXTEND AGREEMENT
Oct. 1, 2016
The Las Vegas Senior Softball Association and Senior Softball-USA announced their intention this week to extend their agreement to jointly run the World Masters Championships and the Southwest Championships for 5 more years – with options for 20 additional years – in Las Vegas.
“We have agreement on major issues and look forward to signing the final agreement soon,” said Jim Whipple, president of LVSSA.
“Together we have set records for the sport in each of the past 5 years – and we look forward to many more years of great partnership,” said Terry Hennessy, chief executive officer of SSUSA.
LVSSA and SSUSA joined forces in 2012 to produce the World Masters Championships, which set a record with 446 teams. This year, the WMC set a record for the fifth straight year with 546 teams.
