QUAD STATE SHOOTOUT KICKS OFF 2017 SEASON

WESTMINSTER, MD – Originally scheduled to be held in Wilmington, Del., before being moved to Carroll County Sports Complex, the Quad State Shootout began the 2017 season during the weekend of Oct. 15-16 with six teams in action.
Hartman Rehab Associates (PA), Team Elite/Miken (MD), High Street Bucs 50/No Clue (MD), Maryland Cougars, Munchbox 50’s (MD) and Premier Softball League 50’s (MD) all looked to get off on the right foot to begin the new season.
In the 50 Major division that featured a best two-out-of-three game series between Hartman Rehab Associates and Team Elite/Miken, it was Team Elite/Miken sweeping Hartman Rehab by scores of 28-19 and 21-20 to take the title. Trailing 20-16 in the bottom of the open inning, Team Elite/Miken scored five runs to rally for the championship win, completing the sweep.
In the four-team 50 AAA division, No. 2 seed Maryland Cougars won the single elimination tournament defeating Premier Softball League 50’s, 16-11, before edging out top seed High Street Bucs 50/No Clue, 29-28, in a thrilling championship game.
Munchbox 50’s defeated Premier Softball League 50’s, 13-7, in the third-place game.
