WINTER NATIONAL & WINTER WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS KICK OFF TOC QUALIFIERS FOR 2017 SEASON

FT. MYERS, CAPE CORAL & NAPLES, FL / PHOENIX, AZ – The 2016 Winter National and Winter World Championships, both 2017 roster events and Tournament of Champions (TOC) qualifiers, are set to kick off another exciting year of senior softball, as the 2017 season gets into full swing.
The Winter National Championship, scheduled for Nov. 1-6, will be hosted across three facilities: Lee County Sports Complex (Ft. Myers), North Collier Regional Park (Naples) and Northwest Sports Complex (Cape Coral).
The largest SSUSA tournament east of the Mississippi, 127 teams will compete in the Sunshine State at the Winter National with the 65’s through 85’s age divisions starting off the tournament, Nov. 1-3, and the 40’s through the 60’s age groups concluding the tournament, Nov. 4-6.
The Winter World Championship, scheduled for Nov. 15 – 20, will be hosted across five facilities in Phoenix (Cesar Chavez Sports Complex, Desert West Sports Complex, Mountain Vista Park, Papago Park Softball Complex and Rose Mofford Sports Complex), as well as Chaparral Park in Scottsdale and Saguaro Ranch Park and Victory Lane Sports Complex, both in Glendale.
The Winter World Championships set a tournament record with 210 teams, making it the second largest SSUSA tournament during the 2016 calendar year (The World Masters Championships was the largest with 564 teams). The Rock 'N' Reno Challenge Cup (200 teams) and the Southwest Championships (194 teams) rounded out the top four tournaments over the past year.
The Winter World will commence with the Men’s 65’s through 85’s age divisions, Nov. 15-17, while the Men’s 40’s through the 60’s divisions and the entire Women’s divisions (40’s through 70’s) will conclude the tournament, Nov. 18-20.
